Deck Description

Coven-trol, aka Coven Control: essentially trying to take advantage of the wonderful quirks of Sedgemoor Witch and the current modern climate.

The build basically just says 'no', and relies on the synergy of cards surrounding the 'no-saying' to generate tempo, material, and win conditions. Win conditions: Witch on its own (3/2 Menace with a bolt kicker for removal), Pest tokens, Storm Giants, minor Countersquall burn, Snapsticks. Synergy breakdown as follows:

Sedgemoor Witch- the titan of this deck, it does everything you want. 3/2 Menace for 3 isn't bad on its own, and with all the removal in the deck, should make for a reliable 3 damage a turn. Spawns tokens like crazy with 34 targets, all of which are either cheap, cost effective, or both. Plus the tokens gain you life, so if you need to be kept alive till you draw an out, spawn some chump blockers and stay alive with blocks and lifegain. What's not to like.

Snap- all the value/tempo targets in the world, and the copy triggers Witch for more tokens.

Hard Evidence- I'll die on the hill that this common has value, as it basically reads either 'counter target ragavan and eventually draw 1' or 'opponent discards removal and eventually draw 1'. All for one blue. Plus it triggers Witch and is a fantastic topdeck or opening hand card.

Tyrant's Scorn- reliable removal that doubles as hate against both Murktide and Hammertime, as both Murktide and the equipped creature, when bounced, become next to useless.

Malakir Rebirth- saves a witch (ostensibly with the bolt to the face kicker), reuses a Snap, targets for both, plus the low curve means the ETB tapped problem is less of a problem.

Tech lands- 4 cycling lands cuts down the dead draws and the low curve means the build doesn't care as much about ETB tapped. Otawara has the same bonus as Tyrant's Scorn against Murktide and Hammertime.

Everything else is just good dimir control the way it's always been played: say no up front, or say no in response. The build also doubles as semi-budget, as there aren't any hundred dollar monoliths like Wrenn or Liliana.
