Deck Description

this deck is just for fun people, so dont get all rowdy. the idea is pretty simple. sit down with whoever u r playing and put ur deck on the table, they will put down theirs. shuffle and so on and then ask them if they want to play with an ante. most people will give u a funny look and then say no. at this point it is ur time to strike, 32 of the cards in this deck say

"Remove ________ from your deck before playing if you're not playing for ante."

sense u have already started the game it is too late for the opponent to do anything about it, u r forced to remove all 32 cards from ur deck leaving u with exactly 8 cards. draw ur hand and then draw the last card in your deck. sense leyline of the void is in ur hand u can start with it in play, then play the swamp, tap it for 1 black mana, play both dark rituals so u now have 5 black mana, play helm of obedience and tap it using th last remaining mana u have, this will deck out the opponent completely for the win. 2 pact of negations just in case the opponent decides to pull a trick.

remember this deck is just for a good time, and imagine to look on the opponents face when it works every single time

Wow... I can't believe the ante cards were actually used. When I play the 1996 Magic duels of the plainswalker game I always see them there but laugh at them because I would definitely never use them. You sir, have taken the idea and owned it for pure amusement. This is an awesome idea!!! +1

Please check out http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=32588 and rip it apart. I am trying to make it into a competitive fun deck, but it needs a lot of work.

I just finished the deck in real life. Turns out that I already had all the cards to build it. All I did was add a few Leylines, took out the Pact of Negations and added another Helm of Awakening. Proxy says I mill 3 people out by turn 3.

I'm giving this a down vote because its bad. There is absolutely no point to post trash like this. The deck not only lacks a full 60 cards, but it also uses cards for ante, which have been banned into oblivion since god knows when. Please explain to me the point of the deck: It can't be played in tournaments, so thats out. What do you expect to do? Sit down at a kitchen table with some friend, then laugh as you win a game of casual magic in about 2 seconds? The only applicable "format" for this deck is at the kitchen table, and it makes absolutely no sense there.

That crabs deck wins i swear >_> dknight there is a difference between fun, and sitting down to say you win and nothing more. I'll agree that the crabs deck isn't exactly competitive, but it does in fact have a purpose and it really is pretty funny. This on the other hand, not so much.

Hey, Ledif, stop being a dildo. My friends and I play Magic for fun on a kitchen table, and that's the only Magic that IS fun. I've gone to FNM and it sucks. Just a bunch of nerd-jocks showing off their lack of social skills by trying to thouroughly pwn random people and believing that there is glory to be won in the Trenches of Magic-based conquest. 1v1 isn't even that fun or challenging. If you really want to test yourself and your deck, get 4 or 5 people together for a game of free for all. It's easy to take 20 life, but 40 or 60 life is another story. When you're having a bad night with your buddies because you aren't getting the draws you need and you're butt's sore from being mana raped, it's nice to know you can pull out 'Old Trusty' and decimate at least one game. There are plenty of decks on here with turn 0, 1, 2, or 3 kills and I don't see you bitching about them. Don't hate on dknight just because he came up with a good deck and you're jealous. Besides, the glory days of Magic are gone. Magic was fun when a winning deck only had 20 or 30 each of Black Lotus and Plague Rats in it.

Now, if you would like me to pick you apart in another area (grammar and punctuation, for instance), just say the word...

thanks roughneck, im glad someone else out there understands. and aethercraft, there r 8 cards in the deck after u take out all the ante cards.

1x Leyline of the Void
1x Helm of Obedience
1x Swamp
3x Pact of Negation
2x Dark Ritual

that way u can draw 1 card at the beginning of the turn and u dont die

and lol at Ledif for who magic apparentlt is a job.
if you don't have fun playing magic why do you play it anyway

and winning on first turn can be fun especially when you see the faces of your friends when you pull that trick off.
and what do we care that ante cards are banished into oblivion it is fun and i think dknight had a really good idea

dknight if you invented this on your own well really i'm impressed you are a genious

I don't find magic to be a job, but i do find it a bit wasteful to create a deck that truly accomplishes nothing more than causing everyone to reshuffle. I stand by what i said about this deck being a waste of space. And please, please, insult or discredit me on the basis of my grammar as it applies perfectly to this situation. Furthermore, name calling is incredibly pertinent to this argument.

0
Posted 15 November 2009 at 18:46

turn 1 win decks do exactly the same thing, the best deck in magic wins before the opponent can even draw a card. thats called mastery, and while i am not claiming to have created the best deck ever, i do believe it to be rather good. yes the opponent has to reshuffle, but they get to do it after taking a loss. if they want to play again thats fine

0
Posted 15 November 2009 at 19:06

Doesn't every game of Magic have the result of simply reshuffling the deck? A win is a win is a win. What does it matter how long it takes? I think you're missing the key point of decks like this: to demonstrate a superior knowledge of the mechanics of Magic cards. This is an original idea and that alone should justify its posting. How well a deck does or how good it may be is a subjective matter, and every person has a right to post what they want on here. If you don't like it, let them know and move on with your life.

what dknight just found here is just genious
no matter if it's fun or not
i don't think that you would one day come up with such an idea (if you do please let me know)

this proves he has great knowledge of the game mechanics so don't say this is a waste of time
cause this decks maybe makes people reshuffle
but it makes people laugh too!
so it IS actually helpfull
we don't even care if this deck is legal or just playavble on th ekitchen table
it is like a joke to your friends just to see their faces and then you continue with your tourney deck

so if you judge this deck useless and waste of time, well go spend your time to something you judge usefull
btw dknight is one of th eusers (if not the user) with the most decks
most of em are fun combos and that is what makes magic beautifull
the diversity of formats and playstyles

so let people have goddamn fun

0

haha : p and no hippo i don't think you said that allready ? : p

but i think magic just has multiple play aspects

tournament play : i like that format cause i ve allways liked to win >.< and because i like the challange to try to be smarter than the others, i like strategy and i like to test myself and since the guys in my town here are so rediculously much better than me i lik eto test my strength and get better against them (they are all around 20 years old O . O )

fun play : it's just amusing to make decks , themes ,try being creative, not picking the best cards but th emost fun cards trying to build decks around your favorite cards.

an di think both are very amusing , often tournament players dislike fun players and call them noobs, and fun players call tournament players nerds : p
but i think both aspects of magic are beautifull and should be respected.

I do agree with you, but I just can't find anything entertaining (for me) about 1 on 1 play. It's too cut and dry and predictable. I tried it for awhile and realized that it was just too easy tactically. In multiplayer, you have to decide which person to kill with what resources so that you can still have enough strength left to kill the other player or players, all while they're doing the exact same thing. It's a much more melifluous game and truly is a much greater challenge.

rileyandholly, I was refering to people to put "decks" on here that have 30 or 40 single cards in them and 24 lands. That's not a deck. Tthat's a stack of cards. I'm also referring to people that burn a deck down without offering any way to make it better. "This deck is stupid." "This deck sucks." We've all seen them. I'm also referring to people that either don;t read deck descriptions or don't include them. I'm also referring to people that rate a deck and don't comment to let you know who it came from.

The fact that a deck with no combos in it that only destroys and controls creatures can become a top rated deck is ludicrous. I don't care what kind of Magic you play; the idea is just silly.
