Looks like a very good start. I would highly recommend Everlasting Torment for this deck. It would negate the life gain in your deck, but it would get around protection decks. Removing the Asceticisms is risky. With Precursor Golem you have to have everything shrouded. If not a single Doom Blade would wipe your entire army.
I thought about it, but to me it's too slow. I mean it gives 1 creature 1 counter per turn whereas Grim Affliction and Black Sun's Zenith affect the board.
