Deck discussion for Great Mill Deck

try dropping archive to 2 and get rid of traumatize, to add glimpse the unthinkable then try using 2 memory erosions

Hmm... Thank you very much. I never knew of these two cards. I'm going to add glimpse the unthinkable but I don't like memory erosion so much. Thanks for the help though. I'll take a look at your deck.

The reason to get rid of traumatize was also hard for me lol, I used to have it for a while. I played it and realized by the time I have reached the mana cost for this card, 9 times out of 10 I already have half of their deck milled by 5 mana. That means im really only milling 20 cards at most for 5 mana, when i could do that with 4 or less. it is a Really great card in context, but when you put it to gameplay, it just usually doesnt work as well as said.

You could possibly take out the Traumatize and add 2 Keening Stones. By the time you have enough Mana to drop Keening Stone you should have half the deck milled. So Keening Stone would finish off the deck by itself.

Looks pretty solid. Fast... Very fast. This is what a true mill deck would probably look like since it doesn't support the noobish Jace in it.

Good work!

hmmm... Very good points you guys make about the Traumatize. And thank you demonicdragon! I'll look into some things and see if I can make some changes. Thanks again Everybody!

txwalker13, the only problem with using keening stone in this deck is my haunting echoes. By using haunting echoes the graveyard is emptied. Correct me if im wrong about the rule, but to exile a card means it is no longer in the graveyard correct?

I hate these final card choices! its always so difficult!

I support the removal of the Traumatize's like the previos comments state, also I would use Isochron Scepter in place of panoptic as well as maybe replace a wall with Hedron Crab.

Looks like a good deck otherwise, Nice Job

I will definately use the hedron crab. What would I do without you guys?! lol. I still find it difficult to remove the Traumatize. So for now I'll keep it in with other cards sideboarded just in case. And I thought a lot about using Isochron Scepter but I like being able to play any card using panoptic mirror.

Thanks though!

Bojuka Bog is a good card, however, it would void the use of my haunting echoes and Keening Stone.

Thanks!

Like the Deck my man, good stuff and a great Mill Deck.
Im using this at the Mo. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=76687
It's catered more to Counter and mill.
Only things i can Suggest are:
Telemin Performance : Mill until a creature is revealed, you get that creature under your control.
Leyline of Anticipation: Lets you play all cards (not land) as though they had Flash, great for hitting them their turn as well as your own.

I really like the Leyline of Anticipation. And I think I'll sideboard the Telemin Performance. Thanks for the help. I'll take a look at yours.

Great deck i would drop keening stone tho too much mana for the kind of mill that it will give you. your mind funeral ,glimpse , trap , and the crab will probably do the work i would add some kind of counter spell maybe some perplex that what i use in mine since either you counterspell either the dude discard is hand or you can transmute it into a 3 mana card and you have a few in the deck so that cna be pretty useful i also use circu doesnt really fit in fast mill but i still like it since you have a few hybrid card and lock down 2 card per spell . i also like the dimir doppelganger since you can copy card that you milled from your oppenent library pretty useful sometime you can get the kill instead of the mill if u can control oponent creature with terror and counter and copy his creature to kill him pretty funny way to win lol and memory erosion is pretty useful tho ! that just my idea mine has no wall but more counterspell/terror to control his creature while im milling him!

Nice idea and good luck with it

Hmm... I see what you mean with the counterspells. They would work well with the mill... I'm not sure if i want to drop the keening stones though. By the time i get the mana for it the opponents deck will be pretty much gone so i can pretty much take the rest of it out.

Thanks for your suggestions!

yea well the keening stone require 11 mana to put it on the battlefield and activate it , and i dont see how you can get it out before you get your complete mill if your deck mills fast enough and anyway if you get it out youll prolly mill only 20 card MAX so 11 mana for 20 card ... Anyway do what you want :P its just my thought :P

Well if you put it that way you start to make a lot of sense.... lol. I'll leave it in for now. Play it a few times. Then make the decision. Its hard to build these decks to a "T" when you cant even play them. You know what i mean? Im looking to make it for real soon though.
