Deck Description

desecration daemon's rise to power after being summoned by vraska, her swamps and forest work to sustain him until his power is at its peak, but the demons sleep is fitful and disturbed by those who would dishonour it.
Vraska knows that only in his wake can her hydra rampage and bring justice to an unsuspecting Azorius Senate, every head taking a life of those who had broken her creed.

How to Play

the deck is simple a cheap to run, I love to keep mana bellow four if I can to keep it speedy. game starts off fast with a bit of mana ramp, but once up and running creatures can be used as surprise killers when tapped. once a desecration demon hits the board it slows down and you hold your hand back while he attack and gets bigger, whilst untapping to take out big things or regenerating through destruction.
vraska and hero's downfall for plainswalker hate.

ive tried to build in an answer for most things but its still supposed to be a fun tricksey deck

side board situational

pithing needle for plainswalkers and aetherlings and gods

counter - savage summoning which can also be a kill spell with a creature in hand

ratchet bomb for tokens and weenie

doom blade for extra kill

lifebane does what it say on the tin and swaps straight in for dreg manglers.

id happily drop a altar's reap or savage summoning for a second kalonian hudra, just need to trade for one.

Deck discussion for desecration untapped

I like it, just have one question; Why Altar's reap and not read the bones?

because of hero's downfall, it shifted the mana up a notch so I brought it back down with altar's reap. hero's downfall took the place of doom blade which was only two, so I swapped my kill and draw mana costs to keep the deck stable. I know I loose the scry but if im lucky ill get some black green scry land in the next set of theros. it still needs a test run in its current form. but befor I put hero's downfall in it ran real well.

But what creatures are you willing to sacrifice for it? If you add the casting cost for a creature as well, the mana cost isn't that different. I really think you will do better with Read the Bones in the long run, I don't think the mana difference is a big deal as in general you won't need to draw card on turn two :)

its more of a reactionary thing for if you chump block or someone wraths. plus you can also do it at instant speed. at the moment read the bones get countered a lot at sorcery speed. your right you probably wont draw on turn two but you draw when ever someone kills your creatures which will happen weather through blocking, kills spells or wraths.
so pro's are instant speed draw in reaction that has a chance dodges exile and life link verse 1 extra mana scry2 that hurts you and is done at sorcery. I prefer instant to sorcery generally when facing control decks, also turn 3 or 4 your mana creatures may become more redundant than they were early game.
anyway still needs a test run in this form so we will see what happens

Are you able to untap Desecration Demon in responce to them tapping it at the start of combat and then attack anyway? (using savage surge or burst of strength) If so its a great way to pisss people off and make them sac creature and then smash them anyway. Not shure why this deck needs Vraska (even though she's awesome)

yes, you have to be really specific when entering combat. once it you pass the first step they cant do anything. so make sure to say "combat" and then pause and get an answer, if they sac just allow it to happen then untap and attack if they don't sac you can use the untap to kill a creature by surprise blocking in there turn.
