Deck discussion for The wilted, burning, path... Naya

Went a little bit of a different route... check out my red/splash green fast aggro instead.

again, this isn't quite naya, you need 5+ power creatures and enchants/spells to boost their power.

I was more speaking to the fact of the color distribution. This is RWG and so is Naya.

I would say if you're going for a fast aggro deck, I would stick to R/G . Since you're trying to win by turn 5-6, so life gain should not be a big deal. You're trying to out run them.
This is what I would do.

- Captured sunlight
-Naya Charm
-Path

+ Burst Lightning
+Blitz Hellion
+Volcanic Fallout(maybe main board)
+Sarkhan Vol if (if you gots the $$)
+ Branching bolt(maybe)

Try that. I hope that helps.

I hear what you're saying. That's how the deck started out, but it runs into problems against control with Baneslayers or walls of denial. This gives me removal, a bit of life gain, but really i just like the cascade, and is still fast and hits hard. I'm taking it to FNM tonight to see how it does against more competitive decks, but it's been amazing against my friends so far.

Took it to FNM... it got stomped. All my pairings were heavy, heavy control. Turned out that I slowed the deck down a bit too much. Ended up boarding the paths, removing the sunlight... adding hellion's to the sideboard. Left the O-Rings in. Sarkhan Vol isn't a strong enough play in this deck since all the creatures have haste already. The +1/+1 is nice, but not necessary. Needs more play testing, but hopefully this will give it back some of its punch while still having a response to baneslaying fanbois. (yes, I know it's a great card... I'm just poor and jealous).

Dolmen Gate would allow your creatures to survive someone with first strike so they could get all of their damage in

That's true, but very unfortunately, Dolmen Gate isn't standard anymore.

As posted now you have a deck that can't decide whether it wants to be fast or wants to be control. I've seen it before and in the current meta you'll be eaten alive. You either play fast aggro and go all in or you play control and try to stall the early game and still have a strong enough mid game deck to compete with other control decks.
Banefire is just silly in my opinion as it will rarely be much better then a kicked burst lightning. You're better off playing Earthquake and just take everything down with you.
I think most of your deck wants to be aggro so go for it.
Drop Ajani, Banefire, Naya Charm, Volcanic fallout, Wooly Thocar (go for 2 colors max)
Concider options like Colossal Might, Jund Hackblade, Blitz Helion, Rip-Clan Crasher, Plated Geopede, Goblin Bushwacker, Jackal Familiar, Burst Lightning, etc...

If you want to discuss strategies in length send me a personal message using the forum, you can find one of my posts here
