Land caps opponent using blue/red/green control and liquimetal coating. Standard Legal. Generic strategy: Get out liquimetal coating ASAP, hopefully turn 2, and cap your opponent at 2 land (neglecting not drawing a shatter, etc.). Mana Leak now always counters spells, because your opponent won't have much more than 2 lands. Use scrying to dredge up creatures, a second liquimetal coating, or the dragon. Reduce opponents life to 0 using creatures, or start destroying lands faster than they can play them. If you seem to be losing too much life, scry up Eternity Vessel and use it to hold your life constant. If you want to reduce cost (and speed, unfortunately), then swap Misty Rainforest and Scalding Tarn for Terramorphic Expanse and Evolving Wilds (3 ea.) or switch them for 2 more of each land, and hope for a good draw. Doing so reduces cost to ~$10 not including sideboard. Some extra scrying power is in the sideboard, as well as spell pierce to be used in low mana games against burn decks. The blight mamba's serve as an alternative win condition, and make the effect of natures claim (+4 life for opponent) irrelevant. Finally, voltaic key can be used in conjunction with liquimetal coating and foresee or preordain (in order to draw enough destroy artifacts).

I have a liquimetal coating deck, I'm glad i ran into this, some good ideas, mine is similar but it doesnt run blue, I let them cast their spells and then use pyroclasm and slagstorm to clear the board (seeing that they are landlocked at 2 lands theyre creatures wont have high toughness :) at any rate consider playing ancient stirrings to fetch liquimetal coating. i use birds instead of elves because it can tap for any color, so i think its better. please, check it out http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=155917 good luck!

I also considered voltaic key, but I figured it is only good when I have liquimetal coating out. You need natures spiral in your sideboard because anything that destroys artifacts will wreck you, i played standard in a tourney and someone mainboarded 2 viridian corruptors, man did i have a hard time dealing with that piece of ****
