Monoblack Vamps - help pls

by devilkin on 12 March 2010

Main Deck (60 cards)

Sideboard (0 cards)

No sideboard found.

The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

I'm trying to build casual game vamps. This is my current deck and I think it needs some changes - sometimes it doen't work like it should have to. I'll welcome every help with the decklist and I also would like to know what to play in sideboard (4x Deathmark, ...?). Lacerators will be replaced with Nocturnuses as soon as I get them.

Deck discussion for Monoblack Vamps - help pls

Kalastria Highborne or Bloodghast in place of Guul Draz Vampires. Remove the Piranha Marsh and either add in fetch lands or just swamps. Any lands that come in tapped just slow you down and you need to be quick. The cost on Vampires Bite (to kick) just seems to much to me since you already have nighthawks and tendrils for lifegain. I'd drop vampires bite and blood tribute to add in another tendrils of corruption and then some removal such as Urge to Feed, Disfigure, or Doom Blade.

For Sideboard, I would keep 4x Vampire Hexmages and the 4x Deathmark that you mentioned could be useful. It really depends alot on the type of decks you play most against at your local store or with your friends. Mind Sludge is also a good one to have either sideboard or mainboard.

I suggest making sure that your land ratio is 24:36 as vamps are so hard to play when you have absolutly no mana, I also suggest taking out the blades and adding in a nocturnas or two.

i would take the laceraters out all together because i have a very similar vamp deck and 7 times out of 10 i would rather have a kill card, ruthless cullblade, or pulse tracker

yup, u NEED hexmages if ur making a vamp deck. always remember that. bloodghast also. i hate lacerators i would just take them out and put anything else in their place. pulse trackers also are a must. also take out any special lands, vampire decks do NOT need them AT ALL. just put swamps in there.
