Deck idea born of wanting to use Waste Not Life from the Loam, and Raven's Crime in the same deck. *Made with what I own **Edit:Reworked the land base. Cultivate / Kodama's Reach require basic lands and I had way too few basics in the deck.. ***Edit2:A friend I loaning me Ravnica duels, so I reworked the land base again and switched Cultivate / Kodama's Reach out for Farseek / Sylvan Scrying
Main win:Waste Not + Raven's Crime + lands in hand = opponent discards and you gain mana / zombies / draw. Molten Vortex + lands in hand = burn creatures and opponent. Support cards:Life from the Loam = refill lands in hand. Farseek / Sylvan Scrying = land in hand. Flame Jab = pseudo Molten Vortex, though for less damage. Magmatic Insight = draw. Can be used to trigger Dredge. Worm Harvest = mid / late game creature production. Dakmor Salvage = reusable land for discarding. Nice for when Life from the Loam isn't around.

how do you feel about running seismic assault? it cost more up front but is more effective in the long run

No one in my club has Seismic Assault, but I already have Molten Vortex. Originally, the idea was to combo Waste Not, Life from the Loam, and Raven's Crime, Molten Vortex and Flame Jab where including after wanting to flesh out the deck a bit more.

I love the idea of the land recursion to constantly harm the opponent. I'm assuming items such as Crucible of Worlds would not be viable for budget reasons?
Besides budget, it doesn't play into the 'discard a land' theme the deck has.
I really like this.I'd recommend running Burning Inquiry over Magmatic Insight. It's cheap, and makes a huge impact with Waste Not on the field. You get three triggers off the opponent while digging for your pieces at the exact same time (or even better, dredge 3 and draw 2 ^-^).Also, if this isn't specifically for Modern, a single Glacial Chasm is really crazy good. I run one with my Crucible, but Loam works just the same.
I like the Burning Inquiry idea. Will have to see if I can get any. Glacial Chasm is an awesome card, sadly, my group only plays Modern and Standard, so it's not an option. My friend ran this last week, but he first edited it with cards he has, like Bob. I should post it soon.
