Original deck design by Saffron Olive for MTG Goldfish's Against the Odds:https://youtu.be/n1Um8IXZXm4I tweaked it to reduce the reliance of blue. While Rogue Refiner is a great card, there's a slew of mono Green creatures with "ETB: draw a card". I debated internally with which to replace it with and eventually settled on Eidolon of Blossoms because of the synergy with the Mana ramping land Auras. I also tweaked the lands slightly.
As Saffron Olive explains in the video, Primal Surge is a difficult card to build around. We want to combo win with it, so we need all permanents in the deck, meaning we can only have 1 Primal Surge in the deck. To increase our chance of getting it in hand we use Rune-Scarred Demon and Liliana as permanents that tutor. Surge also costs a ton of mana, so we use mana ramp land Auras + Arbor Elf to ramp into all the expensive cards.Once we have enough mana and Primal Surge in hand, we play it and effectively put our whole deck into play, then allow one of the Eidolon draw triggers to draw a card with Laboratory Maniac out for the win.To protect the fragile part of the combo (Laboratory Maniac), we have Asceticism. To force Primal Surge through, Boseiju makes it uncountable. Platinum Angel helps keep us alive is something goes wrong and we can't win off the maniac.Primeval Titan is both a big threat and land ramp. Also our main way of fetching up the backup win condition: Stomping Ground + Kessig Wolf Run. Also fetches Boseiju. 2 backup win conditions:1) Ramp into the Demon and Titan, then win though large creatures attacking.2) Fetch up Stomping Ground and Kessig Wolf Run and then pump a lot into the X on an attacking creature.
