After a conversation with a friend about this deck: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=270516 I decided to change it a lot to inlude Mulch. The idea is to fill the graveyard (Mulch, Forbidden Alchemy, Merfolk Looter) with big creatures and then use the flashback of Unburial Rites to bring in the fatties (preferably Sheoldred first). Kill and mass removal to buy time, Emissary to chump block / mana ramp / fish out the swamp. The swamp is to play Forbidden Alchemy's flashback. EDIT (19 Dec '11) After some testing, I found the deck's mana base needed a reshuffle. I took Hinterland Harbor, Glacial Fortress and Sunpetal Grove down to 2 each and the Island, Plains and Forest to 3 each to add in the extra Swamp, a Drowned Catacomb, a Woodland Cemetery, an Isolated Chapel and 3 Shimmering Grottos. I also added a sideboard that's a work in progress (ie it still needs testing).

Have you thought about maybe trading in some of those basic lands for some duel lands with black, or is the one swamp and an emissary enough to handle 4x Unburial Rites, 4x Forbidden Alchemy flashbacks, and 3x Dismembers (though I do understand you don't actually need any Swamps to cast Dismember)?

I'm still very much in the ideas phase with this deck. Theoretically the one swamp should be enough. Dismembers mana can be payed with life, Unberial Rites should be played via flashback (so I count it as a white spell) and Forbidden Alchemy's flashback is more 'bonus' self mill. Also Mulch, Forbidden Alchemy and Merfolk Looter can dig for the Swamp, so Viridian Emissary isn't the only way of getting it :p
I tested the deck and I found I needed that black mana more than I initially thought. Lucky for me, I didn't have all the lands to test with and substituted some of them with black duals and grottos, so I had black to play with :p
Well my biggest thought for this deck is that when Faithless Looting is printed this will get a serious boost, but until then I dunno. As I've said many times, I'm by no means a standard player :/
Ya, that card may be the single card that makes me turn this into a 5 colour deck :| And if I do, I mite use Desperate Ravings too, but then I'd have to revamp the entire deck :(
