Yesterday I saw the Against the Odds video by SaffronOlive of MTGGoldfish of a Modern cat tribal deck:https://www.mtggoldfish.com/articles/against-the-odds-cats-modernWhile I agree that tribal requires things that care for your tribe type, which sadly only Regal Caracal does, I mostly disagree with how he filled out the rest of the deck, especially adding red just for Wild Nacatl. Don't get me wrong, Wild Nacatl is a powerful common, but I feel adding a third just for one card that doesn't really care for the tribe isn't worth it. I am aware of the other red cards in the list, but they feel like they where added just because Mountains where added for Wild Nacatl. This is my take on Tribal Cats in Modern.
Like most tribal decks, the deck is about playing creatures and winning with creatures. Unlike most tribal decks, cats only have one true "Lord", and that's the 5 mana Regal Caracal, so while I have some early game beats, I'm actually aiming for an aggro midrange hybrid. > Search for Tomorrow: Is mostly to ramp into a turn 4 Regal Caracal. It can be suspended on turn 1.> Regal Caracal: Our only true Lord. The lifelink it grants also helps us stablise against more aggressive decks. > Brimaz, King of Oreskos: While not a lord, this cat is definitely the king of cats. He slowly fills the board with cats every time he attacks or blocks. > Metallic Mimic: Lack of true Lords forces us to look at alternative options. This one comes out early and leaves it's boost on the creatures when it's removed. I personally prefer this over SaffronOlive's choice of Adaptive Automaton. > Honor of the Pure: Another Lord effect, but this one's less vulnerable to removal.> Loam Lion: Effectively one mana for a 2/3.> Sacred Cat: Kind of insurance against mass removal. > Fleecemane Lion: Normally just a two mana 3/3, but also another reason for Search for Tomorrow as once this Lion is Monstrous it becomes you second best attack and defense (Brimaz is best because of vigilance). > Qasali Pridemage: Allows for an early damage boost and is a mainboard answer to Enchantments and Artifacts.

NOTE: Set by owner when deck was made.
Honestly would cut Search for tomorrow for Adaptive Automaton, gives you another Lord affect

The reason for the ramp is because of Regal Caracal's casting cost. It also gives a turn 1 play and thins out the deck a bit.
I get that, but wouldn't a straight lord just be better, especially at the cheap end
