Deck Description

In a conversation with WhiteAndBlueTheyKillYou he mentioned "DragonStompy" and it got me to thinking, can I make an aggressive "Dragon" tribal deck? This is the first rough design.

Magus of the Moon to mess with decks using nonbasic lands.
Runed Stalactite is to turn Birds of Paradise and Magus of the Moon into a Dragon.
Blood Moon in Sideboard in case more of the affect is required.

More than anything else, Crucible of Fire makes this a dragon deck. A Taurean Mauler with a Crucible out is nothing to sneer at, especially in multiplayer. I'd definitely think about 2x Kilnmouth dragon.

You could argue that it's a Gremlin/Dragon tribal though. It IS a Gremlin tribal, right Ded?

Actually, I think this is a great Dragon deck. He doesn't have big, expensive Dragons, he has lower cost, fast dragons. I also think this is pretty original. Well done!

I agree, not a traditional "Dragon Deck" but still pretty ingeneous and interesting. Thumbs up!

:D
"not traditional" is what I often do. Creativity is the one thing people lack in when designing / building decks and something I always try to do :p

For some other changelings...

Game-Trail Changeling - to round off mana curve, as well as add some trample to the mix
Chameleon Colossus - BIG DUDE

Also, consider some moderate burn to get menacing creatures out of your way.

Amazing deck idea! +1

Well I like the idea, but the deck has a curve that could be hazardous. I've never really worked with Crucible of Fire, Changelings, or a lot of this stuff :|

And I'm entirely with Sure on the matter of DragonStompy, it is lies. It is however a decent deck.

u know what's just strait hillarious with crucible? now i could be wrong, but with shape sharer, you make woodland changeling copy a tauren mauler (with 0 counters, but with a crucible in play). now, at the time of copying, tauren mauler was a 5/5. so woodland becomes a 5/5 tauren mauler. but tauren mauler has changeling, so it gets the bonus AGAIN. so it's an 8/8. spend as much mana as you please, and prepair your evil laugh. you could even target itself instead of another changleing. and u know whats even more fun with that combo?
training grounds.

I'm lost as to why Taurean Mauler would get the bonus again? Your woodland changeling is technically also a 2/2 dragon (so 5/5 with Crucible). Maybe you misread Taurean's ability?

It copies the creature, not any bonuses. Look at Gatherer's rulings,
"The targeted Shapeshifter copies the printed values of the targeted creature, plus any copy effects that have been applied to it. It won't copy counters on that creature. It won't copy effects that have changed the creature's power, toughness, types, color, and so on."
So the copy doesn't get to repetitively get the Crucible's bonus.

This deck is so Wacko it deserves to be on the front page, so im making it so.

You're taking a lot of liberty with the "dragon tribal" claim, but I feel it pulls it off. Dragonmaster Outcast is a non-dragon that is a dragon, but as it is now is really good.

10 points for creativity. A dragon deck with no "natural" dragons. Brilliant. Looks like it would be fun to play.

Very interesting deck idea, though the fact that there aren't real dragons makes me a little sad. My only recommendation is adding a 3rd Sarkhan Vol because he gets so little play that I figure you may as well make the best of him. Any input you have for my Lich deck would be appreciated: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=297491

If you want a fast and aggressive dragon deck (not just changelings) then you need to add in Kargan Dragonlord and DragonMaster Outcast. I can't think of any better dragon cards than those. You could always use ruined stalactite to turn outcast into a dragon himself too.
