Deck Description

I utterly pwn my opponent by killing them infinantly
play puca's mischief and exchange control of your liches mirror, kill them and then have rain of gore out since they lost and lich's mirror is under their control they lose twenty after the game restarts and then they lose it again and again and again infinantly

Deck discussion for OMEGA WIN!

this is quite possibly the bestidea ive seen in many years, with this u would not only beat an opponent but u could litterally say that the opponent can never play you again because this game never ends, u will have utterly obliterated their magic

One of the funniest things I've ever seen but one tiny hiccup.
Lich's Mirror doesn't gain you 20 life, it makes your life total 20, which don't seem that different until you look at the wording on rain of Gore, which requires a gain of life ability. There are ways to do it with this, don't get me wrong, it will just need some tweaking to get around that.
You could, for example, use illusions of grandeur (Obviously take out the Rain of gore), Despotic Scepter, and Skull of Orm. It will take considerably more mana but your game suddenly becomes: If your opponent plays a land, they loose, sort of... then it starts all over.
There are other ways as I said, but t do them at instant speed, may want to check out tefiri.

Good luck with this, it's funny as hell.

OMG I STAND CORRECTED (Haha, by Myself):

10/1/2008: For your life total to become 20, you actually gain or lose the necessary amount of life. Keep in mind that you may have a negative life total when this happens. For example, if your life total is -4 when you would lose the game, Lich's Mirror's effect will cause you to gain 24 life. Other cards that interact with life gain or life loss will interact with this effect accordingly.

FUCKING AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok this is pretty great idea HOWEVER please explain how you kill them in the first place... gargadon is fine but there are plenty of creature removing spells i.e. path to exile, doom blade, terror, swords to plowshares, banish, counterspell, cancle, pact of negation, pact of slaughter, any creature with death touch....etc etc etc im not saying dont play a card because it has counters all cards do im saying you need more damage not just a playset of gargadons

Funny... If you win, and they say RM, you just say "nope, you're still getting beat from the last game, I just haven't chosen to stop the effect. I'll stop beating you infinitely another day. See you next Friday Magic ;).

The problem is that they never technically "lose" the game. I mean I understand that in order for the lich's mirror to activate they have to "lose" but because the mirror says INSTEAD they don't actually lose the game. And because they don't lose the game, and you have no way of stopping the combo (you can't just say "I want to stop the combo") the game would end as a draw, as there is no way to get past the particular phase in the game, unless someone scoops.

^^^ Did any of that make sense?

I am pretty sure that's how it works, I will look for the official ruling, but don't get me wrong I love the idea, and I really want it to work, I just don't think it does

BTW, I think you should find a better winning condition. Probably any combo-kill that can easily be pulled. Like the old Painter's Servant +Grindstone, etc.

Lich's Mirror also shuffles away. Loop broken.

Also, you have to win with half a deck of cards that don't do anything until you win. Good luck.

Actually the mirror stays. It says they shuffle everything they OWN into the library. They don't own it, just control it. So it stays on the field, and because they didn't actually lose the game... Control isn't handed back to the actual owner.

Lol... That's funny... Anyways... This is a very interesting deck. I do know that there is kind of a problem in that it has no creatures that stay on the field for more than a single turn. Meaning that actually killing your opponent is going to a little difficult... Which is kind of the purpose and fun of this deck: annoying the heck out of them by not letting them actually lose until they scoop out of frustration. :). I would love to build a similar deck though.

hate the be the bearer of bad news but when you do that combo you lose, the ruling on infinite combos says if its one you CANNOT stop, which you cant with this one, you automatically lose, sorry guys

Actually that is not true. The role is that it has to be a combo that is not interacting with anything outside of itself. In other words, it cannot have any impact on the rest of the game. This combo has that interaction. It is very minimal but it is there.

the liches mirror says it becomes 20 it doesnt say anything about gaining life, so would it still work?

Yes its a ruling that any change in life total is life loss or life gain
