Been using this deck to climb up the ranked ladder to diamond 1 and almost to mythic in Bo3. It can be used in Bo1 but you would have to mulligan and hope to out-value your opp in graveyard. This is a mix of fast control and aggro deck.Lurrus is your companion and she gives you value in late game with dreadhoard, berserker, Kroxa, and pyromancer. The ideal turn sequence would be; T1; swamp, thoughtseize T2; mountain, dreadhoard T3; (assuming dreadhoard is still on battlefield) whatever land, attack triggering dreadhoard for thoughtseize. Make your decision based on your hand and with three land in play gives you plenty of options such as kroxa and villiage rites or two time kroxa with claim. Wincon can be young pyromancer, kroxa, and/or bloodsky berserker swinging at opp face.
Try to have a turn one thoughtseize and having two lands is fine to be able to cast any of your two drops since all of them create value if opp allows them to stay.

With lurrus in maindeck, could it be more of an advantage to play something like 2 thoughtseize, 2 lurrus and 2 freebooter, because the freebooter would tie up removal and lurrus would being the freebooter back if it was killed.I could also see lurrus brought back with kolaghan's command, which would add more discard if necessary and could also bring back thePirates. Is kolaghan's legal ?

Well my intention was to have Lurrus be a companion since it is more fast control (being able to force early discard of key cards). I can see freebooter being in it due to disruption of opp's hand and forcing a removal. However the only problem I can see with it is, it does not fully remove the card out of game vs thoughtseize along with being a weaker target for claim vs dreadhoard, kroxa, or pyromancer. It would be totally worth it to playtest it and I will update it, if it works out. It would be great against UW control decks. Kolaghan's Command is not in historic format but I would totally mainboard that card in place of awaking and/or shock. If you want I can create my modern version of this deck
I'm only watching videos about arena at the moment, but might join in, one day.I do have the advantage of having played magic almost from the beginning.I'd love to see a modern version of the deck as modern is my main format.
I mean it is a pain in the a** to grind to get a lot of the cards. I got lucky that I got in Arena early and kept playing so I managed to get most of the cards throughout historic formats. It will take me some time to find some good suitable replacements for it especially the sideboard. Couple cards I can think of that is an instant add are Inquisition of Kozilek and replace the spark harvest for fatal push. Maybe replace the pathways for fabled passage. Kolaghan's Command will be replaced with bedevil (add it to sideboard)
I'll play for free. I've tried to take on legacy with commoncards in the past, getting pretty close to 50/50.I'm already dissecting the free core cards in arena so I will be prepared when the day comes.I think I'll grind out points by hanging out in the bottom for a long time, spending them only to get past cards that stop me. Since the pairings are rigged on ranks and card power level I will probably end up clashing with the best of the free players first. They are likely to be carefull thinkers, so I will learn a lot about how to beat into the cash meta by studying their designs. They will have the right hatred that I can buy into with points. At some point I'll be to high ranked for that part of the meta and will enter the mainstream budget meta.Same strategy goes for there and the rest of the system.I'm a fast learner and will study everything in advance.I actually look forward to abuse sparky trying to see if I can crack the draw algorithm, seeing if it has preferences.Like does it treat non basic lands as lands when it defends against a mulligan ?I usually design my decks around never mulliganning, so it will be interesting to see if my ordinary mana will sort of improve when played in arena.I'm also pretty good at the theoretic stuff and has a wast lore on how past decks worked. If I join, I will make an impact on the scene.
