The only thing you need to win the game is the fluctuator and the mortal combat. without the fluctuator, this deck is useless. but if you have if you have it in your opening hand, you're set. just keep on cycling and cycling and trying to get the mortal combat with some mana giving cards so you can win! my record was a turn 2 win.

Would be fun to see this deck revived with some of the new cycle cards that cost only 1 to cycle.
Add: 4 Archfiend of Ifnir, 4 Street Wraith, 4 Valiant Rescuer, 4 Drannith Healer, 4 Flourishing Fox, 4 Imposing Vantasaur, 4 Vile Manifestation, 4 Hollow One, 2 Shadow of the Grave, 1 Dark RitualRemove: All 12 Disciples, 4 Sandbar Merfolk, 4 Lotus Petal, 4 Shimmering Barrier, 2 Fluctuator, 2 Mortal Combat, 2 Gitaxian Probe, 1 Songs of the Damned
Archfiend of Ifnir to clean the board.Hollow One to defend or attackStreet Wraith to draw the land if the opening doesn't have anyCycling creatures with just 1 costShadow of the Grave + Fluctuator, 1B to draw 2 cards for every cycled card
All are valid modifications except for moving fluctuator and mortal combat, I'd test thoroughly with those, though some of them may be cut. Most of the disciples should be sb though if the meta has a lot of br.Songs of the damned and dark ritual might not be enough, I'd also try out Culling the Weak :)
Created a variant (Orzhov) legal in Legacy/Vintage: https://www.mtgvault.com/somaro90/decks/cycling/Having 3/4 copy of Fluctuator and/or Mortal Combat it can be that you will start cycling and end up with 2 fluctuator/mortal combat in hand without any other card to continue the cycling.
I'm on a phone, can't use links, so make it public. All combo have some weakness or another.I could actually see Grief being very powerfull in this. When you run out of mana to cycle, you grief them and they probably won't be able to stop you when you start up next turn. There are also some other older cards that may be alternative ways to win with instead of mortal combat.Theres a card that "shoots" with creatures in the graveyard, it's pre-mirage or part of mirage I think.
