This deck will cause your friends to find clever and creative reasons to beat the shit out of you. Do not play this deck if your body is susceptible to pain. If you idea of fun does not include people attacking you with your own limbs, then do not play this deck. This is a control deck based on wizards. First you want to try to drop a wizard every turn. Try to get a Patron Wizard out as soon as you can then counter god damned everything. The 4 Vedalken AEthermage will help you get him out fairly reliably, as will the Information Dealer and Sage of Epityr. After the Patron Wizard is out, you just need to get a Puresight Merrow out or Pemmin's Aura on something, and all of your islands become Force Spike. Once this happens, your opponent won't be able to cast another spell for the rest of the game and the only things left to deal with are whatever is already on the field. Putting someone in this situation will, of course, anger them. However, if they haven't tried to set you on fire yet, then that means they have threats on the board. If you have Pemmin's Aura on a Suq'Ata Firewalker, then you're in good shape and can kill every creature they have without retaliation. Unless you count getting kicked in the face.If you have a Serendib Sorcerer, you can also toss a Pemmin's on him to drastically reduce the damage that would be dealt to you by creatures. Unfortunately, this does not reduce the damage that would be dealt to you by friends.Lastly, the Beguiler of Wills is your ace in the hole. Once you are safe behind your counter wall, you lay this slut down on the table, and you tap that shit. AND YOU TAP THAT SHIT HARD. Once she's all tapped out, your friends will want to hit you some more.If you don't have any of these, then you're pretty fucked. But that's where the Vedalken Mastermind comes in. He combos well with the comes into play abilities of some of these wizards. As well as provides a way to block dangerous attackers without sending a wizard to the grave. It allows for the Vedalken AEthermage to be played and then returned to your hand to be cycled when you feel like replacing them with something else.Great deck for multiplayer. Especially once you flip the Lighthouse Chronologist. This deck then becomes the only control deck that works in a multiplayer setting. However, it slows the game down to a crawl, and makes people stab you with knives. Since it's multiplayer, it won't be just one knife.Suggestions for other wizards to put in are always welcome, but will probably be disregarded.
