Deck Description

One of the interesting "never quite made it but still interesting" tribals were the cleric creatures.

... And what makes them interesting is partially sustainability - most clerics function in some way to prevent their own (or your) demise. Unlike other white-themed tribals, I find clerics more versatile, being able to do most between exiling enemy-colored permanents to fetching lands.

The goal of this deck is to be functional (at the very least as casual) in todays meta.

: How to play
Your primary win condition is to build up clerics and deal damage while keeping yourself and your clerics alive - simple enough. As a game finisher we use Starlit Sanctum to sacrifice Doubtless One or Transcendent Master for loads of life loss.

: Life-gain combo
How about infinite life? Sure, a combo previously explored in the Cephalid Life deck allows for an interesting feature, infinite life. It's based on a 3 card combo, so don't count on being able to play it in more than 1 match out of 10.

You need Daru Spiritualist, Shaman en-Kor and Starlit Sanctum in play - target any cleric a million times with the Shaman en-Kor damage redirection ability to give the targeted cleric 3 million toughness (Daru Spiritualist will pump it) - then sacrifice it for Starlit Sanctum, giving you tons of life.

: Comments appreciated :)

Deck discussion for Clerics Revisited

Why did you add the snow-covered lands? I looked through and didn't see a reason. Maybe I missed something?

Hi, if an opponent plays a spell that affects named cards such as "plains", snow-covered plains will remain unaffected; so basically is just a paranoid failsafe and has no other interaction with the deck.
