Deck Description

Wrath of Sheep is a white weenie deck built on the elements of suprise. Despite the fact that it has rebels in it, the deck is mainly focused on tokens to do most of the work.

How to Play

The basic strategy of the deck is essentially: Exhaust your opponents by destroying all creatures -> Pop in a lot of tokens -> Swing on your opponent who has no defenses left.

Early game, your goal is to play as little creatures as is necessary (since you'll be blowing up the board). Focus on playing as many Glorious Anthems as possible since they will be our primary source of damage. The reason why I chose Glorious Anthem over Honor of the Pure and Crusade is because it only buffs your creatures and it has two white mana symbols to combo with our Springjack Shepherd. Even though Crusade could potentially be better, we will not be playing creatures early on, so even if you had a Crusade on turn two, it wouldn't be put to use.

After you set up your Anthems, it's time to start sweeping the board. Only destroy all creatures when you need to. Your goal is to simply stall the game out until you have enough mana to deal a single crushing blow. Don't be afraid to kill your own creatures when wiping the board as you can always get them back later. By wrathing the board constantly, you're simply exhausting your opponent until they can't play any more creatures. Once they are creatureless - this is where you strike!

The deck wins using two primary ways:

1. The first option is by crapping out a lot of tokens. Ideally, you want to cycle Decree of Justice at the end of your opponents turn. By tapping out 8 lands, you'll be able to produce 5 soldier tokens at instant speed - that can't be countered by normal counterspells (since it's cycling). Cool! If you have just one Glorious Anthem in play, that's five 2/2's - or a total of 10 damage! This is the bread and butter strategy of the deck. Nobody expects you to just pop out an army at the end of their turn.

Alternatively, you can simply play Springjack Shepherd. Depending on how many enchantments or creatures you have on the board, you can get a slew of free goats. As with Decree of Justice, your goats get stronger with each Glorious Anthem on the field.

2. The second strategy for the deck is to simply get seven plains and an Emeria, the Sky Ruin on the field. Since you've starved your opponent of creatures, you'll easily obtain board advantage. You'll be able to constantly bring back your Springjack Shepherds - which will allow you to instantly create an army of Goats! As I stated above, all it takes is one or two Glorious Anthems to make you a huge threat.

Emeria, the Sky Ruin combos nicely with Children of Korlis for those aggressive decks. Unless they can one-shot you, you're able to bring back the Children each turn and heal up all damage they've dealt to you. The same goes with Aven Riftwatcher. But instead, you net some life and gain a temporary chump blocker as well!

Deck Sustain and why I chose Rebels:

Since you'll be wrathing the field constantly, you'll need some way to get your stuff back. One way is Emeria, but the other is with two cards: Mistveil Plains and Lin Sivvi, Defiant Hero. Both of these cards allow you to put stuff from your graveyard onto the bottom of your library. Now all you need to do is shuffle your library. Fortunately for us, every time you tutor for a Rebel, you have to shuffle! So as long as you have two or more white permanents, you can Mistveil Plains your wraths from your graveyard to the bottom of your library. Then every time you search for a Rebel, you shuffle, possibly allow you to draw more wraths!

Other Combos:

Amrou Scout - All Rebels in the deck have converted mana cost 3 or less allowing this card to put any Rebel in the deck straight on the battlefield.

Mirror Entity - This card is a changeling - thus it is considered a Rebel! This card can singlehandedly win you the game with enough creatures. Just use any other Rebel to tutor for it at the end of your opponent's turn. Then on your turn you'll be able to tap out and make your creatures huge! Mirror Entity also works wonders if you get tokens with Springjack Shepherd or Decree of Justice.

Lin Sivvi, Defiant Hero - It must be mentioned that you can activate the tutor ability for zero if you simply want to shuffle your library.

Mistveil Plains - Don't forget that this card has the Plains subtype, thus counting towards your Emeria count!
