Deck Description

Direct burn and control for days.

How to Play

Main Wombo Combo
Elite Arcanist + Triton Tactics + Mana Source = Infinite Casts
/w Guttersnipe out- 2 damage infintely
/w Zhur-Taa for mana- infinite 1 damage pings
/w Nivmagus out- infinite +1/+1 counters

Semi Synergy
Hidden Strings /w Nivmagus or Guttersnipe for extra counters, mana, and/or burn triggers.

The key is in the defenses.
Removal is prevalent in standard (as of 17JAN2014). Caryatid and Simic Keyrune play a defensive mana dork or a possible blocker, same with Mutavault. Don't be afraid to toss away Nivmagus as a chump blocker until you break out the burns.

Patience.
All the spells are designed for defense and reaction.
If you get an Arcanist or a Triton Tactics, try to hold off casting it until you have the other one for the main combo. Although this deck seems to be good on mana ramp, if you become tapped out you leave your win conditions venerable.

Card draw and scry
Toss away the lands and repeat creatures. Unless you're confident in Guttersnipe, Nivmagus win, you want to go for Zhur-taa, Trtion, Elite Arcanist; or the "ZAT" win, as I call it.

Chaining Abilities and Spells
Be wary of all the untapping and tapping you can do with cards like hidden strings. Each time you hit someone with hidden strings you get a cast. You can untap land, and cast even more. While playing Ceta, try to be a step ahead, in combat AND in spellfares.

Possibly
If you're lucky you can do this combo on turn 5. As long as you put down Zhur-taa on turn 2 or 3, than have a Triton Tactics and ELite Arcanist in your hand for turn 4. Than turn five you have the mana and no summoning sickness to activate combo. The problem, again, is the ever present fear of removal.

RED: Burn
BLUE: Bounces
GREEN: Fight
BLACK: Destroy
WHITE, BLUE, BLACK: Exile

Every color has em. Be ready. Play smart. Win with a janky deck.

===/FNM Standard Sideboard Consideration Tips/===

If you lose.
It's probably to aggro, in which case you bring in your essence scatters and backlashes. Probably take out negates or syncopates for the next two matches.

Against Monoblack; any kind of damage prevention, or healing- consider skullcrack if you don't need the counters as much. Gary is a beast, don't let the opponent gain life though. If you draw Skullcrack, hang out to it for that dreaded turn 5.

Against control; put in all your non-creature counters, remove fog. Let them try aggro you down. You will probably survive long enough to bring out your main combo.

===Card Synergy Details===
Some explanations to strange numbers.
Crunching the numbers the land is right where it needs to be. Given the curve, and mana dorks.
1 Draco, Ral, and Chandra replaced 1 Nivmagus, Guttersnipe and Arcanist, because of the versatility, and the mana ramp could be put to use this way.

The Izzet charms are used for keeping your win condition alive with a counter or digging to find it. Good for small spot control, but better as a casting catalyst to trigger GS or NE.

The 1 keyrune adds a noncolor specific mana ramp and another potential blocker just like the 2 caryatid and 2 mutavaults. They skirt around a lot of the removal with hexproof and not always being creatures. Good for cipher and chump blocking

The Augury and Thoughtflare give you a change to find the win conditions as well at the cost of cards. You wont need those other cards anyway. Remember to use these at the end of your opponents turns.

Make sure to use your Druid to Cast fog and anything else when you can. Also remember, casting fog with guttersniper and druid deals a lightning bolt of direct burn and stops aggro without using lands.

Use the plainswalkers however seems best for the turn. take advantage of scrylands to use Chandras 2nd ability wiser. Use Ral zareck to get a mana free Arcanist untap or to do just that much more burn, or even spot removal. Or tap an opponents creature to get a direct hit int he player to trigger Hidden Strings. Untap lands and trigger lots of spells!
