This deck is sadly not budget, but easily adjustable to work for budget-minded folk. It is dumb-nuts good against normal decks if you use the Moxen, and ok-ish against other casual decks if you dont have them. Mostly it was built for fun.
Ever since Mirrodin came out, I saw the Mana Myr as Zords- and now, with Scars of Mirrodin, they've got the Rangers and Megazords to start really kicking butt! To budgetize the deck, take the 6 most expensive cards off the list- dont worry, theyre so obvious you shouldnt have to look them up- and use more mana Myr instead.
The analogy to Power Rangers goes like this:
Embersmith, Riddlesmith, Myrsmith, Painsmith, Lifesmith, and Etched Champion are the Power Rangers
Iron, SIlver, Gold, Lead, Copper, and Palladium Myr are the Zords
the Moxen are their Power Morphers
Myr Galvanizer is Zordon
Shimmer Myr is Alpha 5
Myr Battlesphere, Suntouched Myr, and Myr Welder are all Megazords.
and Myr Reservoir, Darksteel Citadel, and Myr Turbine put together make the Command Center.
There were a few other cards I might have considered for each spot, like the replicas for the rangers or the spellbombs for the morphers- I think this is a really good list though. I nearly had Alpha Myr as Alpha 5 which would have been funny, but then I saw how good Shimmer Myr is with the Smiths' 'whenever you play an artifact' abilities.
The one major change I could see people asking (besides duh, cutting the Moxen cuz thats way too expensive in dollars and cheap in tactics) would maybe be to use Grand Architect as Zordon. That would be cool...but then I'd have to choose to cut either Shimmer Myr or Myr Galvanizer, and use the other one as Alpha. or maybe use only Grand Architect/Zordon, and 2 different Alphas?
fans of both Magic and Power Rangers- what do you think I should do?
