So I am looking for some advice on this deck. Feel free to suggest things that aren't there, comment on things that are, and here are some other things I have considered but don't know what to replace:

Saffi Eriksdotter - she's useful and I can recur her with other stuff.

Lingering Souls - great in standard and as a 4-of in regular 60-card decks, but how does it fare in Commander?

Glissa, the Traitor - Seems like she would be a great fit with all the artifacts I have, but I don' t know what to take out

Kalitas, Bloodchief of Ghet - Sure I'll destroy your creature and add a vampire token equal to P/T of your creature. But the ever-burning question is, what to replace?

Am I missing other great proliferate cards?

I want to put in a Doubling Season once I can find one at a decent price or in a trade. Should I replace Parallel Lives with it or keep PL and remove something else?

I have Ajani in there. It has 100 cards because it's an EDH (Commander) deck.

This deck packs some great/fun combos. My favorite is Acorn Catapult on Nested Ghoul, haha. Also, Ghave and Sigil Captain is just bonkers.

NIce deck! I would probably add Sorin lord of innistrad and triumph of the hordes ( +1/+1 to all your creatures , trample and infect) and also craterhoof behemoth and maybe a mimic vat (because its really mean with cardslike hornet queen and wurmcoil) and finally a suture priest.

also replace muraganda petroglyphs with intangible virtue or with gaea's anthem or glorious anthem. because once you play a card like true conviction your creatures get -2/-2 so yeah but idk i haven't played the deck maybe it does work with muraganda petroglyphs anyway yea ^_^

Parallel lives as well. The next best thing for 4 mana instead of 5. Doubling season can be counter abused too buy spreading double -1/-1 counters to the person with it. ;]

Thanks Firemind/Deathtyrant!

I definitely want to add a Sorin, especially now that he is more affordable.

Vault of the Archangel is no-brainer, don't know why I forgot about it.

I really like the idea of Mimic Vat - gonna find room for it for sure.

Doubling Season is mentioned in my first comment as being something I want to add once I can find one in a trade or decent price.

And I do want to replace Muraganda Petroglyphs with something (Intangible Virtue is already in); it doesn't really matter what as long as it pumps my tokens. Muraganda is only good for half of the tokens I can produce anyway since the other half are fliers. The Anthems are both good, but I'm looking for "that extra something" in an enchantment. Like, give me +2/+2 or +1/+1 and something else.

Removed Muraganda Petroglyphs, added Mikaeus, the Unhallowed. It struck me recently how ABSOLUTELY BONKERS he would be with this Commander. He gives all (but 2) of my creatures Undying, so they come back (after I sac them for something let's say) and then Ghave removes the +1/+1 counter from them allowing them to come back again. Repeat. I'll gladly repeatedly sac my Grave Titan for his ETB effect!

Great suggestions, psychic! Selenesya Evangel was in a previous incarnation of this deck but I took her out due to substandard performance. I'm looking to get both Mycoloth and Creakwood Liege. I'm still not sure if I want Avenger of Zendikar and Rampaging Baloths.. what would I remove for them?

0
Posted 25 July 2012 at 22:53

I think Avenger is better than Verdant Force imo, so I would switch those 2. Celestial Force is too costy for what it does really, so I would drop it too and put Rampaging Baloth instead. Also try to get you some fetch lands. Cultivate and Harrow could help you good too.

either elspeth is a solid add
akroma's memorial is a suped up eldrazi monument
glissa is great i dont even use her artifact ability just a first strike death toucher ( plus i give her flying) helps anything too dumb from swinging
garruk primal hunter is a great card to add
not digging acorn catapult or pentavus
symbiotic wurm is great as it gives people no options either it gos through for 7 or spews tokens
goldnight commander is a great finisher card as he lets you get a massive (albiet temporary boost)
goldnight redeemer lets you gain a stupid amount of life i often hit oveer 100 life
craterhoof behemoth is a monster giving you a win unless they have fog or something similar
harmonize helps me draw into a lot more threats for just 3 mana
champion of lambholt makes everything unblockable basically
fogs of some nature are a must
alliance of arms has been underwhelming for me as now i have to swing through that nonsence
fungak sprouting is a little underwhelming as well
moonsilver spear and mask of avacyn simply arnt worth the cost in this deck with ghave you can just recast him like a hoss i often cast him 5 or more times ( the highest cost ive cast him at is 17)
so in short awaking zone and necrogenisis are just not worth the mana input or card space
sigil captian and juniper order ranger lead to infinite loops like cathars crusade where 1 mana equal 1 creature forever and there bigger then 1/1's
+ elspeth (tirel is better but either)
+ glissa the traitor
+ akroma's memorial
+ garruk primal hunter
+ symbiotic wurm
+Goldnight commander and redeemer
+Craterhoof behemoth
+Harmonize
+ champion of lambholt
+ 3 fogs (fog ,blunt the assault, clinging mists etc etc theres dozens find the ones you like)
+ sigil captian
+ juniper order ranger
- fungal sprouting
- moonsilver spear
-mask of avacyn
- pentavus
- alliance of arms
- acorn catapult
- necrogenisis
- awaking zone
i run a ghave deck thats can turn 7 pretty routinly unfortunatly i havent updated the one on here in like 3 months but if you wouldnt mind checking out my thraximundar edh deck

also if any one wants me to break down your deck either reply under this comment or put a comment on any of my decks and ill get to you

Hey, thanks for the very thorough reply! A couple of things: I do have Symbiotic Wurm and Sigil Captain in there. It's too bad they don't get auto-sorted by alpha as that would make these lists easier to compute.
Some of the cards you identified as minuses are ones I have also marked as "maybes" to be replaced when something better/more interesting comes along. The exception is Acorn Catapult, which has been very useful for me. It eliminates any of my opponents annoying X/1 creatures (like say, Mother of Runes who can't protect herself from Artifacts). It also combos well when I target my own Nested Ghoul - I get a free squirrel AND zombie? Score! If I ever did decide to remove the 'pult, I would remove Nested Ghoul too.
I love your suggested additions too. I definitely need to find an Elspeth; need to reconsider Glissa; and look into Akroma's Memorial. Instead of the Goldnights, I think I would put in a Sublime Archangel. I think swinging with a multi-exalted Squirrel would be the tits!

Thanks again for the thorough comment. I'll take a look at your Thrax deck shortly with a similar critique. Cheers!

fog, fog patch or resprite, and spore cloud are the 3 green damage stoppers you want (spore cloud is a overpowered fog), feed the make to make more tokens, green white and black hondens ( make tokens gain life hand control every turn), and the leyline of the meek.

if i think of anything else ill post again

How about doubling season? That and parallel lives make up for an infinite combo!

0
Posted 27 July 2012 at 11:04

I don't think they combo infinitely, but they are nice together. Together they quadruple instead of double token effects. Grave Titan poops out eight 2/2 zombies instead of 2 when he ETB and attacks. I definitely want to add a doubling season, if I can get one cheap. Hoping for a reprint in Return to Ravnica. =)

You could add Rhys, the Redeemed, I run him as my commander, but he would make a good addition to this deck too, since he has double tokens as an activated ability. He's not too expensive too, you should be able to get one for, say, 5$.

0

Rhys, the Redeemed is a great card. 6 mana to double tokens, and if you have parallel lives out, even better. Doubling season to further the massing of the token onslaught.

Check out my token deck here if you will please my good sir.

i would go with a khalitas if u can find a place to use it cause u cant have him out cause he gives u tokens that can be monstrous, (say u destroy a titan or better yet a big primordial hydra) and if u have a parallel lives out there u would get 2 of them but i cant really help u on what to take out, thats up to u man
