Don't let the name deceive you. There is nothing soft about this deck. Built around the abilities of it's creatures, this deck is the perfect combination of reckless red and disabling blue. SUPER cheap mana costs make for very short games.
With this deck, a turn 3 victory is possible, even if your opponent has summoned creatures. Turn 2 - Play Kiln Fiend....Turn 3 - Play Brute Force(or Reckless Charge) along with Assault Strobe and Distortion Strike or Artful Dodge(if needed). Viola! You have a Kiln Fiend with a power of 13 with double-strike and he's unblockable! Granted the cards have to fall into place for that victory. When that doesn't work, there's always more fun to be had. Browbeat for example. You might get your opponent to let you draw once or twice, but once they get wise, you might want to hold on to Browbeat until they don't have a choice ;)Reforge the Soul is such a wonderful card for this deck. Only two in the deck to avoid getting it in your opening hand, because let's face it, you aren't going to pay the actual CMC for this card. It's main purpose is to get a shiny new hand once you've spent all your cheap Instants and Sorcerys. But it also helps when you took that opening hand with 2 mana and now you aren't getting any more. It's a gamble if you're discarding a full hand, but if you don't have something you need, it usually pays off. Creature draw is a bit scarce in this deck so don't hesitate to use Reforge the Soul to get some. Trust me, you will draw more of those Instants and Sorcerys ;) DON'T FORGET!!! Reforge the Soul and Browbeat are Sorcery cards, so they count towards buffing you creatures as well. I have forgotten in the past. :(Use Fling to deal a final blow. You can also use it when you have multiple creatures out. Buff em, Fling one of them before you attack and the other will get the buff from Fling. Keep in mind that the sacrificed creature does not get the buff since sacrificing the creature is part of the cost to cast Fling.Warning! This deck is not so good against counter spell and super life-gain decks! FYI :(Small note on the sideboard: Use Dispel and/or Izzet Charms in place of mizzium skin when going up against counter spells. Use Skullcrack when up against life-gain or damage prevention(usually white decks). It helps to know the deck you are up against (DUH!). If you are up against killing spells, try to wait until you have a Mizzium Skin (or Dispel) and an untapped Island to throw out the only creature in your hand. Try to protect the one you have if that's all you have. You may only get one shot at your opponent, but luckily that's all you need with this deck. Don't be scared to lose life. In fact, it makes it that much sweeter when you are down to 3 life with an opponent at 20 when out of nowhere you summon a 16/5 unblockable Kiln Fiend with haste and double-strike. Gotta love it. Have fun :)
