The idea behind this build is to mill your scavenge cards into the graveyard while ramping your land up and one-shooting your opponent in one swing. With a few contingency provisions just in case something happens to go wrong. Please leave comments, opinions and suggestions on how this deck could be improved.
The ideal situation is to have a minimum of six mana out along with corpsejack menace, jarad and wild beastmaster. You scavenge your wild beastmaster up to a 8/8 and swing with her and corpsejack menace. This will turn corpsejack menace into a 12/12 untill the end of the turn. At your endstep you pay the six mana to activate jarads ability and sack both wild beastmaster and corpsejack menace to win the game.

scavenging works against jarad. Replace him with Lotleth troll. I have a similar deck. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=415800 I run the shock lands and LT. I'm still working out the other spells. I like grisly savage paired with treasured find. Maybe I need to find a place for those two cards.

u are right about scavenge working against jarads p/t but its a great win con. all u have to do is put everything on beastmaster, swing, then start sacing off ur creatures for the otk
Thank you for seeing that
I have much to learn.
You have a really low curve, so you could probably lose some land. I run G/W humans with a similar curve and only run 20 lands, still finding myself mana flooded at times. I'd also replace the guildgates with Overgrown Tombs in the interest of speed. Cut out 2 forests and three swamps to bring the deck to 60.
Thanks for the fedback. I find it better to run this much land due to the grisly salvage and only being able to pick one land or a creature from the five cards; plus, the mana cost to scavenge the cards from your graveyard to beef up your wild beastmaster which this deck revolves around.
How about some enchantment hate in the sideboard? Rest in Peace would seriously slow you down.
Good point, a few golgari charms on the sideboard wouldn't hurt.
i do agree with loosing some lands, but otherwise it's pretty damn good. good job :) have you tried it at fnm? seems fun
No not yet I actually play this deck casually with friends and it usually does pretty well. The only difference in the one I play with is I have a few primordial hydras I sometimes cycle in.
i appreciate your imput, but im not looking for the scavenge ability so much, thats why i went cheap token producers, and recommendation for your deck which mine ran into is guildgate is soooo counter productive i can understand if you dont have the expensive ass cards but its way to slow for trying to push out things fast ya know?
The shady thing with grisly salvage is you reveal all 5 cards so even the on that actually gets placed in hand they'll see, I was gonna say a different card but trackers instincts does the same thing but 4 cards
No Lotleth Troll? And the lack of removal seems odd too; Abrupt Decay is one of the best we've had in a long time.
Good ideas here, I have been working towards something similar. I feel like you might be a bit heavy on the card advantage sorceries. I know you need to get some lands to sac for jarad but you might have too much. Putting in arbor elf and or avecyn's pilgrim for some accel. would work very well with beastmaster. Once you get your counters on beastmaster, all of a sudden those two little elves left over from your early game are each swinging for 9 and sacable for your combo. Personally I would go 4x grisly salvage, 4x mulch and scrap most of the other sorceries.
Jarad doesn't really fit in here since you are exiling your cards and they don't stay in your graveyard. I like Jarad's Orders in this though. Blessings of Nature's miracle cost is nice for this deck and champion of lambholt would make your creatures unblockable if you put the counters on him. Check out the synergy they have in my not-so-standard counters deck if you like the suggestion. thanks!http://www.mtgvault.com/pgb5534/decks/counters/
Thanks for the feedback but you should read the how to play before commenting because this deck isn't centered around beefing Jarad up and if you read it then you would have see that.
I like the idea of this deck. It was how I use to play golgari. Now I run straight aggro golgari. I would love it if you would check out my build. http://www.mtgvault.com/gr33dy/decks/golgari-aggro/
Add Lotleth troll and Farseek. -2 Seek the Horizon -1 Wild Beastmaster +3 Farseek -2 Jarad -1 Treasured Find +3 Lotleth Troll
needs lotleth trolls and 2 guild mages.also, where are your rancors?!?!you also need some removal.tragic slips are fantastic, ultimate price too.
how about instead of running the guildgates, try evolving wilds/ghost quarter along with drown in filth for a solid method of filling the graveyard and control in one step. that'll take out seek the horizon. mulch is also solid for ramping up mana, and if you overdraw lands turn 2 you can throw excess cards of your choice to your graveyard! lotleth is a staple for pretty much any golgari deck by giving you a good method of discarding unusable creatures to fill the graveyard. personally i really dislike the scavenge ability of golgari for some reason but love the self mill process as a whole. just think synergy lol
