I'm looking into some other cards to place in the deck to keep the speed up on it while running the heartless summoning paired with havengul just not sure if it will be a worth while deck if combo is not what it seems let me know.

Sorry I seem to have failed to mention the combo Lol basically get perilous myr in the grave drop heartless summoning on the field drop havengul lich then tap 1 mana to cast perilous myr for 0 who will go back to grave for 2 dmg to player and repeat. . . if i am correct you can "Target" perilous myr "One Time" then continue to case him for o an infinite number of times. . . .
What's the combo?
Pretty much what I see so far isn't infinite. I'm trying to see a focus on how it would be with havengful lich, but i don't see anything that would infinitely give you mana to activate the lich's ability infinitely.
like i said not sure if combo is valid but it would be heartless summoning on the field with havengul then use havens ability to target perlious myr casting him for 1 mana who will hit the field then die. . .but i think the combo is no good cause you would have to tap to retarget him again and again just a thought. . . maybe some mana gen ideas?
PS: if you really want an infinite combo with the lich, somehow put a few priest of urabrask in. Once you have the priest and perilous myr in your gravyard and then a lich and heartless summoning on the board, it goes: pay the 1 mana for the lich abiltiy, and then pay 1 red to cast priest. you're given 3 red mana and the priest dies . You repeat this and every single time you bring back a priest, it stocks up the red mana count up by 1. So you can do this an infinite amount of times. After that's done, bring back the perilous myr over and over and it dies everytime causing 2 damage to your opponent, game. So I am very confused as to why you think this deck has an infinite combo right now. The only other infinite combo I know of with the lich in standard is: hearltess summoning and lich on board, grimgrin and either bloodline keeper or thraben doomsayer in graveyard. Cast the grimgrin and the token creating creature form your graveyard with the lich's ability, lich gains both activated abilities of grimgrin and the token creator. Tap the lich to create a token, sac it to the lich and it gets a +1/+1 counter. Repeat. You have a X/X lich (saying that the x's mean infinite)
Yea,h you need to redo the lich's 1 mana ability to infinitely cast that myr over and over because: when you tap the 1 mana for the lich's ability, it only targets 1 creature. You target the myr and then even though the myr will die, he would no longer be targeted when he comes back to the graveyard. You need that infinite mana source to keep bringing the myr back. So, try and find a way to get priest of urabrask in here. I playtested against a lich deck that did the priest+lich+perilous combo, it's slow to get going, but it kills when it comes online. What you need is ways to get around grafdiggers cage, nihil spellbomb, thraben heretic, and other cards that destroy the combo you're going for. And on top of that, you have to be sure you have defensive status going on so that someone won't kill you off while you wait for the lich to come on the board.
oh wow maybe i will do something like that then thanks for that i just wasn't sure the mechanics on havengul but now i know and i appreciate it
You're welcome. Just make sure you have answers to the cage and other graveyard breakers. By now (especially with zombies becoming popular) people are probably going to be sideboarding grafdigger's cage.
Also, what's a good idea for looking for combo-ideas is looking at the discussion comments on cards in the gatherer: http://gatherer.wizards.com/pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=262852 A lot of the times for cards, people will post up comments on them on the gatherer talking about combos. That's where I've learned a good amount of combos I know. And another card I forget to tell you to watch out for: surgical extraction. You might need to sideboard in a few extractions yourself to counter it: they target a creature in your graveyard, but if you play an extraction on your own creature, you don't have to exile all of your copies of it, just the one you target because the card says "you may search the owner's graveyard, hand, and library" it doesn't say that you have to exile all copies. That way, they won't take away all your combo creatures. combo creatures.
yeah lol i side decked that in a seperate deck already for that exact reason but thanks again no i can take this deck a bit more serious i should have a fully functional version of this deck up in a few days should be fun =)
so true im gonna continue editing this deck but for now running suggested combo and i made the deck U/B/R now only the one creature though ;P
Dude heartless infinite combos are sooo good right now. I'm currantly running heartless grixis for the infinite combo, you should check the decklist out, it might give you a few ideas: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=296422
