Deck inspired by Guilds of Ravnica releasing and is based on the videos from Tolarian Community College, Jumbo Commander, & The Mana Source deck techs. This deck has the main theme of using Etrata to win and has subthemes of cloning & theft. As of building this deck and playing it a few times so far, it has quickly become one of my favorite decks when playing kingdoms and is one of the few decks I believe is truly viable for the assassin role. (If you haven't ever played kingdoms look it up and play it, but I am not responsible if you and your playgroup become addicted.)(The side board is cards that could be switched into the deck and offer some varying levels of power and budget)Essential cards are: - Mirror Gallery (removes the legends rule from applying to you)- Cards to bounce, flicker, or phase cards to deal with the trigger of Etrata being shuffled back into the deck* (Crystal Shard & Voldalian Illusionist are 2 of my personal favorites for this as they are cheap to buy)- Peregrine Drake, Mnemonic Wall or Archaeomancer, & ghostly flicker: create infinite mana and then Exsanguinate.* The Etrata shuffle trigger targets the "Etrata" that caused the trigger to go on the stack, so when flickering the "Etrata" it leaves the battlefield and then comes back in as a NEW permanent and is no longer considered to be the "Etrata" that the shuffle trigger targets; the shuffle trigger then has no target when it resolves
The goal of the deck is 1-shotting opponents and this can be done either one or multiple opponents at a time (if the stars align all opponents at the same time). The general gameplan is to use transmute & tutor cards to get things such as Mirror Gallery and then whatever you might need for the situation. When the Etrata trigger goes on the stack respond to it with a bounce, flicker, or phasing effect to remove a target for the shuffle trigger. Brainspoil should always be used to get Mirror Gallery (provided you don't already have it in hand) as it is the most important card for a clone-kill-combo.The first time you play the deck against people who haven't seen it before, I find it very effective to set up a situation where you can make a bunch of copies of Etrata (at least 3) and then swing them at a single player for that instakill. Please leave your tips & tricks down below and let me know if there is any questions about the contents of the deck or its playstyle.
