Deck Description

I already own this deck in paper but it’s hit or miss. It just isn’t fast enouh or I end up top decking. When it pops off it’s amazing though, but that’s only about 40% of the time. Any suggestions are welcome.

Ive been contemplating removing the elves but I don’t know what to replace them with. The synergy is there. The speed just isn’t.

I'm also fine splashing another color too

How to Play

Sorry for not including this before.
Goal of the deck is to be virtually immortal with Elder scale, which could be protected with lighting greaves, and be able to boost my creatures with ooze, vigor, etc.

Predator ooze combined with lure make it very deadly.

Once vigor comes into play Predator ooze+lure essentially become an opponent creature board wipe every turn. This also allows any other creatures to deal direct damage to opponents.

2 vigors also protect each other.

Fog is mainly for early game lethal damage mitigation.

Summoning trap has won me more than enough games by dropping elderscale wurm, vigor (at the right time), or even emrakul.

The elves are mainly used for mana ramping (obviously). The main issue with them is if I don’t get enough of them out in time, or they get removed, this deck is severely slowed down. And I mean severely.

If the elves can be boosted (due to the archdruid) they can serve as good attackers and blockers, though still susceptible to removal, or getting them stronger mid game, which could be too late if someone else has early game aggro.

Deck discussion for Elderscale

What is the goal of this deck? I mean, it's hard to give advice when there's no information on how you want to play the list.

No worries, sorry about that. Completely slipped my mind. I've added a deck description now.

Cool. If you want a mana boost, the Axebane Guardian/Overgrown Battlement combination is ridiculous at making tons of mana. Explosive Vegetation works as well, for deck-thinning. Try throwing 4 Guardians, 4 Battlements, 3 Explosive Vegetation, and 3 Dismember for point-kill, cutting the Nissa's Pilgrimages.

Awesome! I added 2 Beast Within's too, to make up for removing 1 forest (for 20 lands) and removing Emrakul.

I would say, either go all elves, or no elves (probably keep the mana elves, though, what I mean is don't have elf synergy, like the arcruid [if you choose to not go elves]). I would say, don't go elves, because there's already plenty elf decks out there. Like the other commenter said, though, we need more info on how you want to play the deck.

Added the deck description. I've removed the elves from the main deck. I've been toying around with different ideas on Untap.in but nothing solid yet.

Hmm, I would have kept the mana elves. Now you dont have anything to play turn one, but you should already start to get extra mana ramp by then.

I moved the Fog's to the sideboard and replaced them with Search for Tomorrow.

I'm just guessing arround a bit so no blame!

I picked Elderscale Wurm from your deck and thought about a ramp deck to get it out early and play with it's mechanic.
Another problem is to protect it against burn/death spells so I think of either Privileged Position or Asceticism to stay Mono Green.

Then you need the mana to get all those out early. There you have some good options like Azusa, Lost but Seeking, Beastcaller Savant, or Joraga Treespeaker to name some options. Other spells like Rampant Growth or Awakening Zone are also valid options.

Don't play Summoning Trap unless you plan to play in a counter based meta. Instead you have Choord of Calling or Tooth and Nail as alternatives.

Now to keep you immortal, we need some life gain and I also would suggest Ageless Entity as it will become stronger whenever you get life. Chalice of Life is a valid option because you could well limit the ammount of life you get to stay at exactly 7

Sorry for not adding the "how to play" part. I just did that.
To respond to you now:
I would like to keep Summoning Trap, though. It has come in very handy and I typically get to use it at least once in most games.

If I remove all of the elves there will be 11 slots for new cards. I can also remove Emrakul since he is only in there for flavor, really. I'm putting a colorless deck together so I wanted to have him in that one.

Azusa, Beastcaller and Joraga are pretty cool. I'll put them in the sideboard for the time being and go ahead and remove the elves to make the space.

Thanks for the help, everyone. I’ve been playing this online vs other people and it holds up WAY better than when the elves were in it. I appreciate the help!
