What about Snowfall. Never could figure how Snowfall could be useful. I agree with Apocalypse Chime. This card was not needed for the Homelands set.

Although LD has been my favorite type of deck to use, feel free to check out my other deck: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=380847 (it may not let you click on the link, since I may not have figured out how to get it to work, for some reason). It is combo-based blue deck.

Nice, efficient deck. Would this be legal in Extended? I have tried in the past to get the Wumpus (and its couterpart Argothian Wurm) to go effectively in a land destruction deck, but I have never been able to get them to play good enough.

Thanks for the comments. Yeah, the punishing fire / grove combo is very effective. Any comments on making it better is always welcome. I will check out yours.

My simple answer: obiviously red has plenty of direct damage means. More chances than not, opponent will have lower toughness creatures out early, where Lightning Bolt could handle most of them.

Also, do you have any mana issues in the early part of the game (obviously, once Crucibles is in play, then not an issue).

Interesting take. I will agree with famguy3's comment about the black. However, I do like the Countryside Crusher in here, especially when running with the Crucibles (did not know that this creature even existed, but I am not too familiar with many of the cards post 2001).
