Deck Description

This is post-rotation getting ready for Innistrad. Could use some help with it, since I'm still not too sure what to do for spells.

**Misty Rainforest is a placeholder for the U/G dual land in Innistrad.**

**EDIT**: Azure Mage is a placeholder for Invisible Stalker that's coming out in Innistrad.

I'm still deciding on whether to go Cryptoplasm over Phantasmal image, but that's what playtesting is for. My thoughts is that this is going to be more aggro/tempo oriented with swords on evasive creatures with either flying/hexproof/ or unblockable. Phantasmal Image is there for ETB abilities for opponents' creatures. Plus he's just way too flexible not to throw in a U/G deck. Cryptoplasm gives me the opportunity of copying my creatures or having the opponent think about putting down a creature or disposing of Cryptoplasm. It's harmless when it comes out onto the field, but makes the opponent think of disposing of it or playing a creature that could possibly get copied during the next turn.

If I do choose to copy one of my hexproof creatures with Phantasmal Image (mainly Invisible Stalker), I wouldn't be able to equip a sword to it. Though, that's not a HUGE deal because of it's ridiculous flexibility, but I don't know if it'll better fit my deck over Cryptoplasm. I dunno, I could definitely use some advice haha.

You also might want to look into adding the new Garruk card thats about to come out with the set. I tried running a deck similar to this at my first FNM and it was destroyed by 2 control decks, and UW and a WG. You might want to add some things that are hexproof into your deck, such as Dungrove Elder. Also you might want to throw something for mana searching. Just incase you don;t get the mana you need or the Birds of Paradise out.
Have fun!

Dungrove was a thought, but I can't see playing him in anything but a mono-green. But I have 6 hexproof creatures in my deck. 2-of Thrun, the Last Troll and 4 of the new Invisible Stalker from Innistrad (Azure Mage is it's placeholder).

I'm still not 100% on the new Garruk. His front side is a bear making machine, and during his transformation he's really vulnerable. I like Garruk, Primal Hunter for not only his token making abilities, but also his -2 card draw. I was thinking of throwing in a few Llanowar Elves, or possibly a Rampant Growth, but I'll test those out when Innistrad is fully spoiled.

Thanks for the input!

Llanowar elves are amazing for a one drop. They are great because they increase the amount of mana that you have, allowing you to summong larger creatures faster. Rampant growth is ok, but I believe that fetch lands like terramorphic expanse are better because they don't use mana and both get you a tapped land. But its just a thought
