With everyone saying mono blue devotation is going out because of the loss of so many good cards, it inspired me to want to show everyone that mono blue is still kick ass! this deck is mainly to control
This mono blue deck is mainly to stop your opponents from doing any harm to you, and while doing this you gain more and more creatures and make stuff unblockable with invisibility. also chasm skulker is almost UNSTOPPABLE with this deck also with military intelligence you can draw a lot more. jace helps you draw and even if you have to mill a little. any suggestions/comments I would I love to hear because im willing to make changes to the deck. thanks :D

The next set hasn't even been completely spoiled and people are saying devotion decks are dying out?

yes people are saying staright up mono blue devotion is going out. just mono blue though. and btw im only using stuff that isn't going out soon
It's annoying whenever people say that decks are going to die out at rotation when the next set isn't spoiled. Once the next set gets spoiled and people see what it brings, then it's a fair statement. But until then you can't fully say a deck is completely going to die out. Right now there are awesome cards in standard to make blue devotion even more aggressive than it was. Don't worry about the rotation. You can't make a deck based on the next set because it isn't even out yet.Still a good looking deck though. Pardon my ranting. Lol.
lol its alright XD and btw do you suggest any cards I should put in? or take out?
WOW... ...65 cards, too many non-permanent spells... ...not too many blue mana symbols among the permanents...You need to get many stuff outta' this one... ...get some Nightveil Specters, Tidebinder Mages, Frostborn Wierds, Cloudfin Raptors, Judge's Familiars... ...the Syren is actually not a bad idea though... ...Military intelligence along with Bident are pretty strong for the Skulker as well... ...you need more Thassa... ...Drop Jace & most of your Instant/Sorcery stuff, also most of your creatures that you won't need... ...Use Rapid Hybranization(you can kill off a creature out of 1 mana & trade it for the opponent having a 3/3, it's very good against Mono-Green, Gruul, etc & you can also target your own Thassa, or a creature of yours that's gonna' die anyway & so you get a 3/3 out of 1 mana)... ...Use counters & such in the sideboards only, though if you prefer, you can use 2 Dissolves in the main.......Here is an example for Mono-Blue: http://www.mtgvault.com/poetmasterx/decks/devotion-to-squids/
ya I figured all this because of the standard mono blue but im trying to make it for when rotation happens. so for this rotation is this good so far?
No, mate, it's not... ...& this is why I never make post-rotation decks be4 rotation... ...if you leave Ravnica & M14 out, blue by itself becomes weak... ...however, when the next set comes out, I'm sure it'll be different.......Still, you need a lower curve & use more permanents instead of so many instant/sorcery cards!.. ...if you put too much control in it, it's not going well with Devotion...The new Jace isn't doing much here & you need 2 more Thassa for sure... ...use Tidebinder Mage(3 in main deck, 1 in the sideboards, or 4 in the main deck)!.. ...it's amazing against Mono-G & such...You don't need stuff like Void Snare or Divination... ...2-3 Bident & the 2 Military intelligence are enough for Skulker, you don't need to concentrate much on that card, cuz it's strong enough anyways... ...Jets, Hydrosurge, AEtherspouts, take 'em all out!.. ...2 Dissolve is enough, may be 3... ...use 1-2 Gainsay in your sideboard & 3 Negate!.. ...Perhaps Curse of the Swine is also good for the sideboard, since it's amazing against other Devotion-based decks.......
thanks but like I have a small collection and it takes me forever to get card like that so if i try to get them by the time i do then the set rotates out :/
Tidebinder is from Theros... ...Negate is M15... ...Curse of the Swine is Theros... ...they won't be rotating out.......
tidebinder is theros?! I could of swore it was M14. well ya ill put that in. what should I take out? my deck is mainly around chasm skulker and some other stuff
I told you... ...I never make post-rotation decks be4 rotation... ...with M14 & Ravnica gone, mono-Blue is weak, but I'm sure that with the new set, there'll be new opportunities.......By the way, I think Fate Foretold would be very nice for the Skulker...
ya I guess and I REALLY thought about fate foretold. idk yet though. do you think it would be good? if I put it in what should go out?
Jalira, Jace, Hydrosurge, AEthersprouts, Void Snare, Fugitive Wizard... ...they should all go out...I wouldn't bother using Divination in a Devotion deck & also only 2-3 Dissolve in the main deck... ...you need 2 more Thassa...Unfortunetly, Tidebinder Mage is really M14 :( ...though Mindreaver should also be nice(but you don't have enough spells to target it with & if you do put some in, the deck would become unstabil, so I'd rather not use it here)... ...not sure about Vortex Elemental(I think it'd be good for the sideboard - 2 or 3 copies, rather just 2)... ...Dakra Mystic would be awesome with Chasm Skulker though!! Also Wall of Frost(1-2 in main deck, 1-2 in sideboard - has to be 3 total).......
pretty good for pre rotation but when stuff comes out the deck might get better or stay the same
agreeing with chasm but he should take out 4 cards but I would wait til rotation
