I read the Ghould wrong, and thought it meant you get a zombie for every 1 point of damage dealt to it. So I used Chain Reaction.... I want a card like that.
The counters are put on after you declare attackers, so they will be pumpedon time to deal damage if there are enough counters on the Ascension.

This deck looks like it could use Quest for the Holy Relic and Argentum Armor(or something with a cheaper equip cost). Anyone agree?
No! Miasma is GOOOD with Caress and Quest
A couple more land could help too. Maybe 2 Tectonic Edge or Bojuka Bog?
Liliana's Caress is good. It'll speed the deck up. Duress and Inquisition of Kozilek are some of the best discard cards in T2 right now. Maybe remove some Painful Quandary, Bloodhusk Ritualist and a Miasma for some of those cards.
Why don't you try Signal Pest and Glint Hawk, then add some Contested War Zone (1 or 2) so you can pump the fliers more.
instead of comet storm, use fireball so you just need 1 red, assuming you're only using it with ifnite mana.
Dual lands instead!!! And shock lands.

It would also make the Red to Black ratio even...if you add two and take out two black cards.
Maybe add 1-2 Goblin Guide, to help with the lack of creatures or the opponent killing them off.. if they wipe the board or something you could play Gobby, Assault Strobe, Vampire's Bite/Virulent Swipe then Tainted Strike.....DO IT.
