Deck Description

Heartless Summoning seems like an excellent ramping tool for Big Red, despite being black.

PLACEHOLDERS
Cateran Summons = Heartless Summoning
Balefire Liege = Balefire Dragon
Shard Volley = Brimstone Volley
Red Sun's Zenith = Devil's Play
Whipflare = Rolling Temblor

Basic strategy is to control the board with burn till you can ramp into your fatties. Deck may be too reliant on drawing into Heartless Summoning at this point. May consider adding alternative forms of mana ramp other than Priest of Urabrask (which is only truly ramp if you have a heartless on the field), Solemn Simulacrum, and Sphere of the Suns.

If you do get a good hand, the deck is pretty powerful. A t3 Urabrask resulting in a t4 hasted Titan is just brutal, you either get 4 zombies, two of which can also attack, or 6 dividable damage. Ouch.

Still working on the sideboard. This is my first attempt at Big Red (or I guess Heartless Red Ramp is what I'll call so I don't offend any Big Red purists.) so I'm still getting familiar with how it works.

On the Maybeboard:
Traveler's Amulet
Alloy Myr (with a Heartless Summonings out, he's a mana weenie that survives and gives me more color fixing)
Infernal Plunge (This one's real iffy, if I have a heartless summoning on the board, it gives me only creature for sacrifice fodder in the current build)
Desperate Ravings

Deck discussion for Heartless Big Red

after playtesting my own heartless big red i have a few suggestions for ya. just from the looks of this you have to much mana fixing and can get some crap hands sometimes. heartless on field with a priest and no fatty is dead card. I can see why koth is good but i run chandra for the brimstone volley 10 dmg effect. Koth makes those mountains 3/3s but i can see the -2 ability being useful when you dont have heartless. I also believe that any heartless summoning deck that doesnt run Bloodgift Demon isnt doing it right. Olivia Voladaren is an amazing 2 drop that allows you to clear a board and pump a flyer. Id suggest 2 of them, 3 bloodgift, -2 of your arc trail, -1 grave titan, + 1 balefire dragon.
