Deck discussion for U & B devotion are overplayed

I know he's a legend and all, but x4 Brimaz? He's just so cool!
Maybe -1 Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx / +1 plains, you're not starving for mana.
I think you could do without Acolyte's Reward, but that's a preference of mine.
If this is FNM, ignore this next one... But if this is for Standard Competetive... sideboard Revoke Existence, sir.

It's a great start, though, and I think it does what it sets out to do. Let me know what you think.

Hmm, alright but the thing is i need alcolytes reward to trigger heroic as much as anything else. For Phalanx leader. Also what should i take out in that case?

I'm not sure - I think cutting would mainly be preference. Possibly one of your Hopeful Eidolon or Nyxborn Shieldmate? Starting with multiple 1 drops decreases their value some, because they almost have to be bestowed. However, I think play testing is the best option (at this point in time).

Actually Both are perfectly playable as 1 drops because with a phalanx leader they can become much more than 1/1's and 1/2's. Atleast that's how it should work.

You're right, I wasn't clear. I was meaning in terms of mana curve, for Ex:
turn 1 - one drop
turn 2 - Phalanx Leader
turn 3, you want something super awesome like Brimaz, King of Oresko or Spear of Heliod

they are still good, i was just saying having 7 instead of 8 is one idea

Been thinking on it; I think the next release will help refine the build - not that anything seems to be obviously wrong. I'm just not sure exactly what to change without "really" changing the deck around.

Rather than Acolyte's reward how about God's Willing? Giving it protection against a chosen color for a turn for one mana rather than the next X damage. Preventing damage doesn't prevent removal. Personally I've never been a a fan of running more than two of each type of legendary, but that's just me.

I can respect running 2 I just want Brimaz beating face all the time. Also using Alcolytes reward I can redirect 5 damage + from one of my creatures to my opponents face. Though perhaps both god's willing and Alcolytes reward could be used.

True enough. Acolyte's reward can be annoying, but doesn't prevent them from dropping a dreadbore or doom blade on your creatures.

I run phalanx leader in my red white and use both. I'm a big fan of gods willing though. The cool thing about acolytes reward is throwing damage back at them like you said. The only thing I would definitely do is cut the archetype back to two and add ghostblade eidolon and maybe side out revoke existence for gods willing.

Yeah he's the double striker, great pair with hopeful eidolon. Especially with the 1/1 counters.
