Deck Description

I'm a long time player of MTG, having started right after Portal was released. Over the years I've had, and lost due to various reasons, many cards. I'm more fond of older MTG than the present state of things so I don't play at the local shops. As it is now, my collection of paper MTG cards is varied but I don't have many multiples, usually not enough to make decent decks. I am more or less done spending money on paper MTG.

As such, a buddy and I decided to try something 'new'. 30-Card Singleton is now our play style. We've made many decks, from Elf to Mill to Grave Return. The limited deck size and Singleton rules inspire many crazy deck ideas, and forces the player to think out every little action.

How to Play

Like all elf decks, each creature has it's purpose. From the Archers with their air removal to Archdruid and his mana, Perfect making tokens to Paragon giving everyone trample and an over-loaded Warcaller to finish this beast of an 'in your face' elf bruiser off.

Deck discussion for 30c Singleton: Elves

I'd love feedback on both the deck ideas posted AND the format. What is your take or thought? What format ideas have you tried?

A really interesting format choice. I've recently been getting interested in commander since it requires many different strategies with a lot of different cards - none of which you can rely too heavily on, thus creating diverse and interesting games. I really like the idea of a smaller singleton format, I'll have to try it out!

As for your deck, it seems very solid given the format - although I must admit I don't have much experience with singleton games, nor elves.

Since Green Sun's Zenith and Chord of Calling basically do the same thing, perhaps scrap Chord of Calling for something with more benefits? Unless you want the deck search - but in a 30 card deck, do you really need it?

I mainly had both there to ensure you can get the cards needed since elves are combo creatures. I added a few possibles as a sideboard for swapping, I'll have to check some more spells. Thanks for the feedback!

Edit: There, swapped Chord of Calling for Bow of Nylea. Also added into the sideboard a few more counter generators to feed the Joraga beast.
