Thanks for the suggestion. Thought I was a bit lacking in token producers.

Thanks for the suggestions. Desecration is first to go, gets me down to 60. The Nighthawk serves so many purposes in this deck: Flying, the lifegain, and great plan b beater. And honestly, it's only 2 Shamans right now because they flew up in price. I think I should sneak in another Gnaw.

Love the idea of a budget Extort deck. I have another W/B deck I added a bit to, but I this deck looks fun. One card I saw missing was Syndic of Tithes. Thought he was a nice Extort body. Other than that, looks great!

Hey thanks for the comment/ likes. A couple thoughts after a bit of testing:
Mulch is a must in this deck. I like it because it almost always guarantees a creature or 2 in the yard, allows us to run fewer lands than we probably should, and is overall one of the best engines for this deck. 4x Mulch and 4x Grisly Salvage provide us the fuel, and I don't believe their spots are negotiable.
This deck is a grindy, mid-late game deck, and I've found aggro cards such as Arbor Elf, Lotleth Troll, and Dreg Mangler aren't quite what we want. I think some more powerful beaters such as Deadbridge, Desecration Demon (an absolute beast for 4cmc), and Kessig Cagebreakers are where we want to be.
I love Rancor, I just don't think it fits here. Its useless when milled, Splinter already has Trample, and Jarad provides us with the reach necessary to finish games. Doesn't get much better for us than flinging a Ghoultree at their face.
One last thought: I've been toying with running Evolving Wilds to provide some ramp with the Shaman. Salvage and Splinter allow us to mill lands, but a Wilds is guaranteed. Been running 3.
Lastly, I've been loving Sever the Bloodline as main deck removal. It's amazing against tokens, zombies, and is fine getting milled with FB.
I've changed my list some since you saw last, here is the updated version.

Loving the deck man. This is almost the exact build I had in my head when I decided I wanted to try to run Talrand with Delver. My only possible suggestion: Index is begging for some miracle action. Maybe Thunderous Wrath/Bonfire? Other than that, I can't think of much improvement. Nice job.

I've been wanting to make a UR instant/sorcery deck for a while. I was trying to go standard, but I like this version. Ever considered running Delver? I'm considering building a version very similar to yours, just with Delver and Runechanter's Pike. Otherwise, nice deck! I'll share if I come up with a decent build.

Hey man, love the deck!
I've been working on a build similar to this for a while now. I like the idea of Dawntreader Elk and have worked it into my build. Also might try to work in the Swiftfoot Boots idea as well, at least into the board.
Some cards I have found useful: Thought Scour, Armored Skaab. Just some ideas. I didn't like Dream Twist that much. Overall great deck! Sideboard ideas include Beast Within, Vapor Snag, Silent Departure.

Like the deck. It's a build I've been toying with for awhile, It's a lot of fun, and I've gotten my mill engine running pretty consistently. Some cards to consider: Mulch, Thought Scour, maybe Artful Dodge to get the Ghoultree evasion? Just some thoughts, I've been tinkering and found those to work for me. Also, Beast Within has helped me in so many situations that its not even funny.

Hey man, nice deck. I've been working on a build of this myself. Cards I recommend trying out: Shrieking/Armored Skaab, Deranged Assistant, Thought Scour.
Take a look at my build if you would:

How have you been finding Ghoultree?

Building a deck like this for myself. 2 cards from DA that are a must: Thoughtscour and Tracker's Instincts. Also, I've found Mindshrieker to be underwhelming. He might be better for you with 9 5+ cmc, but I would much prefer Kessig Cagebreakers. They are a definite win condition. I played with the idea of Ruinator, but decided to focus more on Splinter and Kessig as my win con.
Here's my take:

I have a deck like this at the moment. I love Jor Kadeen for this deck. Also recommend vault skirge and memnite. Ardent recruit is a great one drop. I wouldn't run 4 Duelist, she can be tough to get out and without MC she's pretty much crap.

Hey man, I've been messing with a build of these, myself. I was surprised to see that you weren't running the card that inspired me for the deck: Ravenous Demon/Archdemon of Greed! I don't know how much DA you've seen, but that card single-handedly lead me to this deck.
Anything with Morbid works. Tragic Slip is another DA card, as well as Increasing Devotion and Gather the Townsfolk.
Here's my first go at it:

Nice deck. Definitely a build that caught my eye, and I can't wait to play it!

Hey man, I really like the deck. I've been playing with a Liquimetal build. I like it with blue, helps of course with consistency and actually getting Liquimetal. Have you considered Ancient Stirrings? It is another way to help look for LC.

Take a look at my LC standard? I went with a burn backup. Thanks in advance.

Retooled this a bit, and made it standard. Lose Ancient Stirrings, but I tried to balance it with some burn and creature backup so I'm not totally screwed without Liquimetal.
Let me know what your think. All suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks for the advice. I tried to work it in. I made a few changes, but still 10 cards over the ideal 60. Any advice on what to take out? Am I trying to do to many things?

My first draft, so to speak. Please help me make it better! There's a lot of cards I don't know (been out of the game almost 10 years). Saw a blue version that I liked (Trinket Mage w/ Shape Anew) but thought this might work. That one may just be better. Thanks in advance for any help!

I'm really questioning the viablility of this deck, though I suppose I should playtest before I kill the idea.
But I've been thinking... anyone think using Echo Mage in combo with Reverberate/Twin Cast + any burn would be realistic? It just seems so.. fun. I would love to be able to quadruple cast a bolt or zenith, though it would require a bit of mana.
And thanks for the likes!

Made some tweaks. Added in Mana Leak, Volt Charge, Into the Roil. I would like to fit in some draw (Ponder/Preordain), and I still think it's a bit light on the levelers. But I'm stuck now. It was hard enough getting what I have down to 60...

Oh, and as for standard, not really too worried about it. Most of the leveler stuff goes out with the new block anyways, so it would kind of kill it. We'll have to see what Innistrad has to offer.
