Deck discussion for 50 Lands!

Beat face w/ man lands. Creepy Tar Pit (see what I did there? :D) is pretty much a Phantom Warrior w/ Distortion Strike on it. Or some such nonsense. Looks fun.

Amulet of Vigor so everything comes into play untapped!

Oh thanks but im not feel its need to come untapped. Shall just think about it

I play standard. THATS my answar

I didnt notice that at first. Pretty solid then. Ever consider Liege of the TAngle? I know its costly, but it makes all of your lands 8/8s and they still maintain their "morphing" ability stuff

why not play oracle of mul daya? it's effect is cumulative so you can play more than 1 land per turn

0
Posted 19 March 2011 at 13:38

yeah this deck without oracle of mul daya would be crazy slow. But with it??? It's fast as hell because it doesn't even need to be a basic land

I do think Amulet of Vigor would help you, a lot. Oracle sounds good, for sure.

Those two combined would throttle up your deck a whole lot,

Can the lands still be used to animate, when they 8/8's? I mean if i use liege og the tangle to do them 8/8. Please answer me spippy

0
Posted 20 March 2011 at 02:47

Animating a land overrights their previous P/T. So if you animate a tar pits it is a 3/2.

Looks like fun, the only problem being it's very very slow. There actually is a very powerful competitive legacy deck that runs ~36 lands, its on the third page of my decks, check it out!

0

Are you sure it overwrites? Because it simply says to treat those lands as 8/8 creatures as long as they have a counter on them. Honestly Im not sure what happens =/

0
Posted 20 March 2011 at 19:44

The manlands read ". . . becomes a [x] / [y] until the end of the turn." Which means even if it was an 8/8 to begin with, it's power and toughness would be replaced by [x] / [y]. Avenger of Zendikar would be much more effective than Liege of the Tangle.

Im thinking about putting in 4 birds or 4 everflowing or 4 overgrown, and so go down to 52 lands?

you could add in explore for getting out lands quicker
garruk could be usefull to since he could help ramp or use his untap to pretty much give them vigilance

0

I agree with the 4 explore. Maybe add adventuring gear. Or one stompy creature with landfall.

4x Exploration and 4x Life from the Loam, also run a pair of Terra Eternal.

wow tis is a really ingenious and cool deck could add adventuring gear actually nah your deck is good how it is.

0

One quistion. Why training grounds? And i play standard

0
Posted 21 March 2011 at 01:02

Sorry, I didn't notice it was standard until after I posted.

Training Grounds was a flop idea. I was either thinking it read ". . . of permanents. . ." or forgot that the manlands weren't creatures until after their activation cost was paid, thus making it irrelevant.

Still, if you ever take this out of standard, Exploration and Life From The Loam would be absolutely sick! :P Sorry I don't have any relevant comments for standard, though.

On second thought, I do have relevant advice for standard :P Avenger of Zendikar!! Only inherent problem to manland decks is using your creature pool to cast spells or activate eot creatures. Avenger has a lot of landfall to take advantage of, and will provide a solid creature pool that otherwise does not require activation costs to be effective.

Likewise, Scute Mob, Dragonmaster Outcast, Primeval Titan (as suggested below) would all find a place in here as well. Perhaps as one-of's or two-of's?

and why the 4 Everflowing Chalice??

Fastbond+Grazing Gladeheart+Oracle of Mul Daya=As many lands played in one turn as you want as long as there is one on top of your library. Also, if you use Oboro, Palace in the clouds, You can get infinite life. I agree, you should have Amulet of Vigor in this deck.

Forget the Chalices.. something to speed this up, Explore maybe? Garruk..

Definitely Explores. And I agree with the Amulets of Vigor as well.

Drop the Chalices and 2 lands for 4 Explores and a couple Amulets

And sure, amulet of vigor, like crazyman said

0

So, you want to use land cards. That's great. But in this case, the everflowing chalice does nothing because you have all of six cards that actually cost mana. And the likelihood of you even drawing them is very small. I pretty much guarantee that by the time you can play the oracle of mul daya then you'll have the mana already to be able to play it.

Other than that....I dunno. Valakut, and Prismatic Omen? Scapeshift is a ridiculously easy card to build around.
