The challenge here was for 2CMC to be the top of the curve.

It's for spamming Messenger. It works surprisingly fast!
In case anyone says anything, I tried to stay away from cards that "auto-win", such as Helix Pinnacle, Laboratory Maniac, etc...
Why not Sedge Scorpion instead of (or as well as) Pharika's Chosen? Same price, and Zenith can grab it.
It costs 0. None of those cards are really supposed to do anything but be cast for free. I'm sure there are more 0-costing cards. But at the time I made this, I didn't know any. It just got lumped in with its other color counterparts. If you know a better one, please do tell! My knowledge is still currently limited on what 0-cost Instants/Sorceries there are. Not all of these cards are completely meant to be of use - just for casting. And it does actually work a fair chunk of the time, lolYou swing good on turn 1, then you trample their weaklings the next turn.
I always suggest at least 1 Emeria, The Sky Ruin in a Mono-white deck.
I did have it in here. I actually just removed it before you posted. It was good for a possible turn 5 secure win, but I found it was better to keep the mana untapped to bluff the opponent into thinking you can protect your creatures. If they try anything funny. Best case scenario, you actually can protect your creatures with your White lands untapped.
Quite yes, my friend.
Turned out it was too slow to be reliable. I changed this deck significantly. All artifacts were moved to the sideboard, and then some fell right off the map. I'm sticking strictly to heroic creatures and can target them spells that. After I return from FNM tonight, I'll update it (if all goes successfully).
Why not have a full set of Skull Crack and make Lightning Strike the single?
Mental Misstep + Spell Snare for round one counters (or round one +1/+1 counters, if you will ;) )It's in the sideboard.
That's right - Borzorius, I've seen some great Heroic-based decks with Instant buffs. However, in this case Rocco has it correct. It would be aggro to the point where you could be dealing a great amount of damage quickly...but it also runs you out of cards quickly and doesn't have the option of any added aggro or protection. Better to have options on deck. Especially in today's Standard. I think I'll make a deck like that for fun now though. :)
Nice, man! Congrats Glad you could be inspired. I no longer remember a time in MTG where Heroic didn't exist, lol
What about Anger of the Gods instead of Pyroclasm? And Sol Ring?
Oh, man - it's a crime to not have Unflinching Courage on the mainboard! Replaced Common Bond with a full set* Same price, and reaps much more reward. ThanksNot sure yet about Warrior's Lesson - Might sub out a Chronicler or 2 for it.
All great suggestions - they're not all Standard, I'm afraid. If Travel Preparations was Standard, it would have a golden throne in this deck. I'm crossing my fingers for the coming generations. I don't run the Bow because of its 2 Green Mana and it's a little slow for the deck. Glimpse the Sun God I'd considered, but I think it's quicker just to have Protection in the end to make unblockables. I've thought about using Glimpse the Sun God as a multi-trigger for my Heroics after the opponent's combat step. I still might include that one down the road.Thank ya
I was waiting for this comment, lol (Ps. I thumbs'd up both comments, because you're both correct)I agree. Originally, I wasn't going to change it, but then I thought: There's enough Scry in this deck to raise chances of having the right balance of land in optimal time to take a player out the fun way. (Turns 4 - 6, usually)
Yep - I have that as a disclaimer in the Deck Description
Bioshift is a great addition! I'll sideboard it for pitting against decks with lots of target removal. Honestly, I wasn't even going for a Hot Deck OR for Budget! It just turned out that way. :) I have a Boros deck like this as well that I play every FNM. I personally prefer the Boros one. It's a turn 4 win much of the time. I have lots of silly decks just for fun, though. And yes, I do prefer the streamline of basic lands. No time for tapped lands. Keep the mana costs low. Yeah, Rocco. I'll check yours oWt.
Brave the Elements works for a grande finish; you could send in a horde of jacked up Fabled Heroes with protection from all the opponent's creatures AND from spells that might tap, detain, or remove them. ^^ These guys got it down.
