Using Increasing Vengeance to hasten milling potential

I think creatures will over run you pretty quickly. Fog bank is a nice blocker but can be easly killed. Reverberate and Vengeance are RR mana cast and you only have 6 mountains red source. All Your blue spells only need 1 blue mana + colourless. Id say add a few more mountains in. I think you would be dead before you can flash back Vengance + a mill spell mill card What are you planing to ghostly flicker?

+4 Jace's Phantasm +2 Jace, Memory Adept -4 Shriekgeist -2 Ghostly flicker Im thinking snap casters would be alot better and act like a double cast for almost the same mana. (If you have the money)
Good catch. I originally had archaeomancer in here to bring back instants and sorceries. What would you recommend creature-wise? Try to keep it standard I'll look into adding some more mountains. I'll probably pull the flickers for wild guess or some type of card draw. Any recommendations on getting me through to the point that it would be doable?
I don't have Jace, otherwise he'd be in here. I'll have to see if I have the phantasms. As for the snapcasters, I don't have the money. lol
Augur of Bolas would be a draw card basicly and a blocker to defend. option 1, Devastation Tide could be usefull. It would defently buy you some time for sure. Since ur creatures will be a 1 or 2 mana cast its easy to get them back out. And recasting your augur of bolas would give you another instance. Im not sure if the red in this deck is the best. Your only using red for double cast. theres blue spells that can return instance or sorcs back to your hand which is basicly like double cast. option 2, Talrand, Sky Summoner could be something to invest in. you can build your self a army of drakes to protect yourself while you mill them down
The reason I have the double cast in there is to speed up the deck. Imagine casting vengeance on reverberate on Mind sculpt or Increasing confusion. Especially the flashback. >.< Major library hit if you ask me...
alright well heres another idea you could work around with if you like. Reforge the Soul which means 7 less cards in your enemy's hand, and if you ran some Jace's Erasure instead of Curse of the Bloody Tome that would be 14 cards out of his library and if you double casted that on a miracle cast... could work would have to test it. This is just something i tought of, no clue if it would work well
The only problem with that idea is that, come October 5, jace's erasure is cycling out.
Yup but until then you can use it and who knows what the next block will bring out. Im just worried that your gonna run out of steam before you can finish him off.
How so? The reason I have memory's journey is to keep cycling my spells into my deck. I can see late game being a little bit of a problem. Maybe toss a few more counters in there?
what im thinking is that yes it does put it back into your deck, but not to your hand. and you might not have enough draw ability to really recycle it. Elixers could be better since it will put the cards back into your library and provide a nice 5 life to. Or try Mystic Retrieval. Could return a Mind Sculpt back to your hand twice. not only are you recycling a card you want but it is bringing it to your hand which is like drawing a extra card. and flashback with red and less mana you can repeat this
Very good deck , These are some decks i am working on ! Deck link: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=362969, Green Deathtouch Deck link: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=361007 Mill Deck Deck link: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=363345 EDH DECK Deck link: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=362392 aura , just for fun green !
Pretty solid, but like earlier comments, you will get run over pretty easily. So, I'd say drop increasing confusion (not very good, sands of delirium is better for the same "effect") as well as dropping reverberate, you already have 4 increasing vengeance, so you dont need 6 reverberate spells. with the open space, i really recommend your choice of the following: Dissipate, Thunderous Wrath, Pillar of Flame, Arc Trail, Jace's Phantasm. all of those can really strengthen your deck in stopping creatures. Ive been working on a USA Mill deck, would you mind looking at it for me? http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=359896 thanks :)
Im not really understanding what the Memory's Journey are doing in here. I dont think you have the draw or search ability to use it. Also check out Visions of Beyond. This could be great for mid game/late game to help with your card advantage in your hand. 3 extra mill cards that you need to finish off an opponent could be usefull. I miss my old Pyromancer Ascension mill deck. This deck is the best attempt of recreating it in standard
desolate lighthouse for some additional draw
Instead of doing desolate lighthouse, I dropped an island to add another wild guess.
desolate lighthouse would give you a permanent way to draw cards though
http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=348611 check mine and see if there something i might be able to change
I would suggest you to: -2 Fog Bank +2 Jace's Phantasm Your opponents would probably have round 10 cards in their graveyard by turn 4. 4 Phantasms can five you an alternative win condition. But if you want to run defensively, just go for 4 Fog banks instead of splitting it to 2 Fog bank / 2 Jace's Phantasm. Since your main goal is to mill out. Keep up the good work! Hope you could check out my decks too: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=221078 http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=221084 http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=221117 http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=221125 http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=221130 http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=221131 http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=221137
Thanks for the suggestions. I'm still working on test the deck. I'm pitting it against my friend's delver. Only thing is I need a way to kill the invisible stalker.
Nice deck. Would really appreciate it if you would help me out with my new B/R Vampire deck: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=370236
I'd like to get this deck to the front page. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=368704 And congrats, lol.
Been crafting up a deck similar to this. You might consider Molten Psyche. If you add in Reforge the souls and manage to reverberate one of them, you can kill an opponent outright. Works nicely with Jace's Erasure too for the mill side of things.
Great idea I wish there were more decks like this on the front page.
perhaps increasing confusion? Or memory adept? I'm not the expert on mill, but jace is pretty ridiculous even if you only pull off one ability with him. Could you check out these two decks and say which one you think is better? http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=370385 http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=369954
You need a hedron crab. I saw this guy who made me mill over 81 cards one turn with this strange land combo. Still, i was using a 60 card deck. I lost...... His name was the ever evil TODD
This deck looks pretty tricky to lock your opponent down. I generally have a hard time playing normal mill without having a reanimated beast hammering my head in. Considering the amount of decks play flashback, I'd be pretty wary of Past in Flames etc. Could you take a minute to check out my deck? http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=370773
I love Jace's Phantasm. It is my favorite card. If you get the chance, could you please check out my Damage Defense deck? It's one I've just thought about and I was wondering what you think. Thanks! http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=370610
I think snapcaster would make it better. Check out my deck http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=333549
my deck is no where near standard but take a look if you like. It mills like a bat out of hell. : http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=371691
I would look at runic repetition to bring your flashback cards back from exile
