Win Conditions: Filibuster Mill All suggestions welcome and appreciated
Your main goal with this deck is to control the field. Don't let your opponent play anything you don't want them to and if they do, don't let them keep it. Get the low cost enchantments out and then bring in the big guns (Sphere of Safety) to lock them down completely. Once you control the field, your win conditions come into play. Cast an elocutor to get the ball rolling or Start milling away with Jace. DISCLAIMER!:For extra table-flipping rage: Cast nevermore on a crucial part of their deck (Bonfire of the Damned, Thragtusk, etc...). Additionally, cast any number of nevermore (remaining, of course) to remove any possible enchantment destruction or pesky counter spells..

-2 Ground Seal, -1 Nevermore, +3 Oblivion Rings - Otherwise I like it a lot. :)

I agree with mcreelbusiness comment, O-Rings do more for removal and ground seal is a good sideboard card.
Looking better?
primal surge? it seems like ur deck is decent and fun. but primal surge might just be the card that's holding it back. one thing that worries me tho is that u say this is a mill deck. your only mill cards are jace and chronic flooding. you cant have 2 jaces out and u most like wont have many chronic floodings out either. at least not until mid to late game. also i see where u are going with primal surge, but with your only ramp being 3 farseeks it will very hard if not impossible to pull off. this deck is standard and 95% of standard decks right now are aggro. from what i can tell this deck doesnt have much defense aside from the counter spells and the sphere. fog bank is a good defender but he can easily be taken care of with any kill spell or burn spell. in my opinion u are trying to accomplish too many things at one time with this deck. it would be best for u to pick one and stick with it. im sorry if i seem like a dick but i just dont see this deck winning. i have no suggestions because i cant figure out what would be the best path for this deck whether it be mill elocutor defense or control.
I understand your concerns and I appreciate the comment. However, I'm still tweaking this deck. I'm planning on testing it at the next FNM. I'm excited to see how it holds up. I'm not too worried about it. I've seen some pretty BA Esper control mills that focus mainly on using spirits as defenders. Besides that, It all depends on whet's being played locally. It's a pretty small card shop that ended up turning 20+ people away from their last pro tour qualifier. I've been thinking about adding in something that would help with the problem of trying to get primal surge out. That's why in previous comments you see mention of Abundant growth. For one G that's not a bad ability. Otherwise, I always have a couple chromatic lanterns I can toss in there. The possibilities are endless. As for kill spells and the like, nevermore is a great card for a cheap cost. Granted, it only neutralizes one spell each, You can take care of a lot of heavy spells. Supreme verdict, Dreadbore, Counters. Hell, imagine restricting the main player for a decks win condition. It's got potential, but I'm not going to say it won't be tough working out the kinks. I'll just have to see what damage I can do at FNM.
Nice deck I'd take out something and try and add some Chill of Foreboding. there a little expensive but they have flashback so i find them useful.
winning via mill probably won't work that well, if i wanted to win via filibuster, though, i'd probably build a turbo-fog ish deck, so that i could prevent attacks long enough to win the game.
That's where all the enchantments come into play with sphere of safety. Also, ghostly possession. I'm essentially able to make elocutors indestructible sans kill spells and board wipes. In any case, I can use nevermore for those.
ever considered the da enchantment that makes them only play 1 spell per turn and if you want milling to be more stable without adding alot increasing confusion might be the way to go or the mill curse you can also take out the forest altogether for shock lands if ya want
Curse of Exhaustion... It's got potential but, I'm skeptical. How would it work? I know they would be able to play more than one spell, but I just don't really see how it benefits me. I was possibly thinking curse of echoes, but again, that doesn't really work with anything else in the deck. The reason I have primal surge is because the deck is a lot of enchantments. Imagine using this as not necessarily a win condition, but support for my other. Unorthodox, I agree, but I should be able to pull it off.
theyre stuck with 1 thing to do you have counters now you control te game tamiyo emblem if you get it now you have inf counters and they have answer total lockout and you win via fillabuster
thank you for your comment on my Elf deck =)I'm sorry, but I can't help you with this one... Its standard, and I'm just not familiar with all the new cards, sorry...But from the cards I've viewed up til now looks great, if not über-great, for a control deck =D Its very well constructed, and I think you could kick some a$$ with it.Your defensive play with control would really benefit if there is something like "High Ground" (or variations hereof) in standard, but I haven't come across any yet.
I like it, I would not want to play against it at all. Only thing I can think of right now is maybe 2-3 Jace's Phantasm for when you're milling your opponent. A 1/1 flier for U that gets +4/+4 if an opponent has 10+ cards in their graveyard seems like a bargain for a deck like this. Not sure Primal Surge is helping here, not sure it's hurting either though. If you have a 2nd Tamiyo you might consider adding that instead. Maybe Dissipate instead of Syncopate or in the SB.
Dissapate is good, but I'm gonna stick with syncopate for one main reason. Control. Either you tap out your lands or the spell gets blocked. Simple as that.Jace's Phantasm is misplaced. It doesn't belong in here. The idea of putting creatures in for creatures sake just doesn't make sense. As for Tamiyo, a second one wouldn't really do me any good. Only one can be out at a time. The fact that I have her in there at all is mainly for draw. Even then, I've never actually pulled her out in a match.
I like it looks pretty solid I had a idea for a deck close to this using enchantment to capitalize on sphere of safety. Never thought about adding in Azor's Elocutors nice pick.
-4 chronic flooding, +4 curse of the bloody tome. Its more mana for a card with a "lesser" mill effect, but it will be much more consistent because you don't have to rely on your opponent to tap the "flooded" land. Cool idea though, I'm an sucker for mill decks and I've always wanted to see azor's in a deck!
That is a fantastic idea... I really don't know why I didn't think of that myself.
Actually, after careful consideration, I've realized that chronic flooding is better. For the same reason as Syncopate.... Control. They have to choose whether they want to take the mill to play that spell.
Me gusta. Me and a buddy were trying to make a deck like this and i think you might have it done right.
I like Curse of the Blood Tome over Chronic Flooding for the mill enchantment because it puts them on a clock regardless of their mana sources. 3 sphere of saftey wouldn't hurt, because the abilities stack, so playing a second one more than doubles the mana they need to pay. for really creature heavy decks, consider Pacifism at least for your sideboard: it is a cheap enchantment which ups sphere of safety's count and also deals with an early creature.
http://mtgvault.com/lighteningfurie4/decks/jace-the-untouchable-standard/Same concept, without Elocutors but with more consistent control and more Jace
After adding in the shock lands, you should be set. If you're not going to do that, there is always a better card than farseek.
