somehow i only recently remembered that it is possible to have 8 effective copies of torpor orb in a deck and suddenly building based around it and hushwing seems viable. 4 mainboard spellskites protect the orb and gryff from targeted artifact or creature removal respectively. once they are out and same, cast monstrous creatures like hunter horror, eater of days, or inverter of truth. the rest of the deck is removal to control until the desired effect is gained and yahenni's expertise is a surprisingly effective board wipe. inspector is a useful one drop that if cast before a torpor effect is done helps with drawing the effect and can be dropped after an expertice that kills the gryff since keeping the gryff around once the creatures have already hit the field isn't amazingly important.
sepend the first few turn just elinimating any threats the opponents put out while setting up to make all the creatures in this deck super efficent. swing with the various huge and efficent and usually evasive creatures for massive damage against a basically empty board

You've inspired me to make my version Modern playable! One additional resource that I've been using - Sundial of the Infinite. In a pinch, you can use its ability to end the turn with one of the negative ETB abilities on the stack. I use four Hushwing, four Orb and two Sundial. I really like the inclusion of Yahenni's Expertise, though. I may have to find space for that.

thanks, link me your version, i am curious to examine the differences and make potential changes
I actually recently changed my list from Legacy to Modern, so it should look familiar. As I said, you inspired the changes, so Spellskite was a recent addition. Main difference is no Inspector/Fatal Push combo, just Path and O-Ring, and with Leveler. The deck felt (to me) like it needed one more big beater. I'm definitely still looking for suggestions, namely a replacement for Night's Whisper.http://www.mtgvault.com/samson/decks/hushwing-orb/
I like it all except the Thraben Inspector. Which I don't know why you are playing it. Also what are you erasing and why do you need 3 of them?
Tablen makes a good point, besides if you have a Torpor Orb in play it would just become an 1/2 vanilla creature because, ability would not trigger. Maybe running Inquisition of Kozilek for some hand disruption or Night's Whisper if you needed to draw cards in place?
fine, put in thoughtseize instead. erase is for blood moon, which is a VERY crippling card against this deck i have found.
