Deck discussion for Does Minotaur Tribal Work?

I love it! Minotaur tribal seems pretty fun, probably not very competitive, but fun. Why not use some madness cards instead of fatal push and go for the throat? You will be discarding with Neheb and bloorage, so you may be able to capitalize with fiery temper.

Also, I feel like Kragma is a very expensive trap. By the time he'll be hitting the field, you should already have a strong board presence given that he cost 5, maybe 3 if you're very lucky. I feel like you could get more value from Boro Reckoner, but RRR might be hard to pull off in such a black heavy build.

And technically not a Minotaur, why not throw in Mogis, god of Slaughter? He's pretty much a Minotaur God in spirit and probably a lot better than kragma.

Cheers

ideally, what will be discarded is excess lands, as there aren't many madness cards much better than non-madness alternatives in modern. the low cost of the creatures ensures that i will usually get down to a low enough hand size fast for neheb.
As for kragma, the reason i only ran two is because it is expensive and i don't wwant it showing up frequently, but it is a nice addition to have i some scenarios. it can also be discarded for bloodrage when not needed.
as for mogis, i was focusing on power over thematic, and it simply isn't that powerful and also i dont have such large amounts of devotion to consistently have him as a creature when he drops. and you yourself pointed out the problem in boros reckoner.
thanks for the imput.

Maybe just some general tribal card? Door of destinies, pack's disdain, roar of the crowd. Also, I'd suggest Felhide Spiritbinder to double some of your lords until end of turn, so the abilities can stack

Minotaurbro! I've been trying to make this deck work since I first got into MTG back in Theros and later got into modern, with disappointing success. You've inspired me to give it another shot I've been splashing green for Collective Company, you should check it out. It makes any tribal good.

I strongly recommend metallic mimic, if is left unattended it pumps all the Minotaur most of them will survive lightning bolt.
also I would play blighting since its pretty hard to outrun the opponents best thing to do its to disrupt their game the burn also helps greatly.

Metallurgic mimic really does give this a boost, meaning they need to kill that, not the warcaller. Blightning is also a good call...probably over rageblood tbh...

The way I see it, your aiming to be emplty handed and attack turn 4 for huge damage, but the only way to do that is to have ragemonger. The deck will be fine in casual, playing one or two games them putting it back in the box. In competitive people will bolt your ragemongers though making your turn four rather bad.. unless you bait that with no warcaller in hand and use the fact they lost tempo killing a low power guy to bolt+creature or bolt+blightning... also, three mana creatures are hard to protect....

I don't know, as a casual deck its staller, if this is the power level of your meta. As a modern deck its lacking a few things.

the idea was modern, because realistically it is very hard to make a new decktype in legacy or vintage but mondern is atleast mildly malleable. otherwise, would have been a brilliant addition.

awesome deck! in reality you could trim a few minotaurs, run more like a bidrange deck with some Chandra torch of defiance, liliana, terminate, and k-command. I like it as is too, just some ideas
