also, good spells would include: Dreadbore and Terminate

Balthor the Defiled clearly says "Black and RED" which makes no sense on why you're putting in mono-colors blue cards, which further makes me think you have no idea on how to build this deck. This is why I brought you back the the basics of building a deck. So you want Balthor the Defiled as the combo. You can use Black/Blue cards like Ghastlord of Fugue but is highly recommended for Black and Red. Recommended cards: Dark Ritual Hell's Thunder Ball Lightning Spark Elemental Griselbrand
1. Pick a format you want to play in: a) Standard b) Extended c) Modern d) Legacy e) Vintage Check here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic:_The_Gathering_formats 2) Pick which colors you want to use. 3) Pick your method of winning: a) Agressive Creatures? b) Counterspell/Creature Kill Control? c) Milling? d) Poison Counters? 4) Pick a card you want to build around (optional)
This looks like a deck poorly thought out. Four Snapcaster Mages with a deck full of Miracles? So you want to flashback a Miracle that costs on average 5+ mana? That's like a turn 7 flashback. Snapcaster mage is best with low costing spells. I'd recommend Izzet Charm, Cyclonic Rift, and (maybe) Syncopate along with Negate/Essence Scatter as sideboard. Also, to avoid top decking because spell casting is notorious for running out of cards to play, I'd suggest more cards like Thought Scour. I have Snapcaster Mages and Miracle Cards but as much as I want to put them together, they do not work. I have a snapcaster deck and a pure miracle deck. The Pure Miracle deck works fine without snapcaster mage because if the whole deck is miracles, you'll have a good chance of hitting one. Plus, with thought scour and think twice, you can cast it on your opponents turn.
Steam Vents (Red Blue Dual Land) is a reprint from the Original Ravnica. It's in the MTGvault database ....................
Exalted deck without Cathedral of War?!
Or better yet, 5 mana for 15 damage if you flashback increasing vengeance with snapcaster mage.
Shock is still standard until October 2012 so that's a great card to fit into this deck without hurting the mana curve. I personally love counterspells so I'd put in mana leaks but once again this is just personal preference. I would also recommend 2 Increasing Vengeance. I have a Green Red with 4x Thunderous Wrath and I assure you, it is DEADLY. Imagine Miracling a Thunderous Wrath with Increasing Vengeance in the graveyard for flashback (and this is easy with Faithless Looting) ... 15 Damage for 6 mana. hello and good bye, sir.
i prefer equipments over enchantments because they simply sit in your hand without a creature on the board and they die along with the creature when attached. so sword of body and mind would be nice against blue decks
mono white knight deck NEEDS Student of Warfare and Brave the Elements. I have a mono white weenie deck and those two cards are sick. And add the new knight from mirrodin besieged. Doublestriker :) Oh and 2-3 path to exiles to clear the way is good too. (1-2 wraths with elspeth to come back from the wipeout or exemplar to dodge your own wrath might be something you can consider)
Might want some creature removal. Condemn maybe? Wall of Omens and Squadron Hawk are favorites too as cards to protect the planes walker(s). And I would put in some landfall cards just to capitalize on Venser and Deprive. 4 Vensers is considered too many since he doesn't do much threat when he hits the board in your deck. I would cut down to 2. You need more board removal overall. From what I can tell, if one goblin hits the board early, you're in for some trouble already.
feel free to comment and give advice!
just a card for consideration - Cloudpost + Scapeshift :D my deck with valakut+scapeshift also has banefire/comet storm + cloudpost as a secondary win :)
polymorph into elvish isn't all bad but it can be game breaking. I would add khalni heart expedition to combo harrow for ramping into either polymorph or summoning trap. just a suggestion.
Knight of reliquary + fetchlands + Lotus Cobra combo is sick too.
I have a Bant deck and I love how it bashes peoples faces. Once I ended a game on turn 4. So here's an idea from my deck: 4 Lotus Cobra, 4 Birds of Paradise, 4 Noble Hierarch for Mana Acceleration 4 Baneslayers, 3 Rafiqs are heavy hitters. With all the mana acceleration, i can drop a baneslayer turn 3 almost every turn. and with a turn 4 rafiq, the baneslayer can swing for 12 or more (if nobles are on the board) and gain 12 life lol Just an idea. :P
scratch that. you're missing time warps...
at least give credit to the player who piloted this deck in Pro Tour Worlds Rome Joel Carafell instead of saying "meh"..
satisfyingly fun**
