mono green self mill. an idea I've been playing around with lately. the idea is meant to make a large amount of creatures with huge power and toughness in a short amount of time. this is done by reducing costs with creatures in my graveyard. opinions are welcome.also little development. i was able to get this whole deck the bulk at my local shop and the markets online with pro-matte sleeves for all under twenty dollars. not bad for a deck that starts coughing up turn three ten tens.[6/17/19] Edit: this deck is still with me and i have updated this list to reflect the new setup that it plays as. the deck has grown in speed over the years and become much more consistent. throwing it in the unloved section to bring it back on the map.

Isn't self mill very neat? :)

wow. nice hustle (this deck was public for like ten seconds XD I hadn't even written the whole description yet). hardly ever get any comments on my stuff anymore especially with the new page not being the front anymore.anyways yeah I've been experimenting with decks like this for a while now. I'm actually thinking about adding some dredge in for more self mill since this deck Isn't running fast enough for my tastes. any opinions? I'd very much like to hear your opinion on it?
Do they have green dredge? I am not an expert when it comes to dredge, it confuses the hell out of me. I am dumb like that. I do know a hell of a lot of people run Green/Black self mill decks. So yeah, there is a start. Disciple of Bolas. Dredge Mangler. Korozda Guildmage. Jarad. Jarad's Orders. Grisly Savage.IF it is too slow...something like Arbor Elf would help. Tree of Redemption is tried and true.
golgari grave troll is a biggy. he dredges six cards in mono green so dumping him in grave turn two makes for milling six on turn three. and don't worry. i had to have a player explain dredge to me in slow motion a few weeks ago and I've been toying around with it ever since. its really a fun mechanic.and arbor elf seems like a fun idea. i will have to try that out another time. and yay for the tree. its also awesome with something like wreath of geists.
I do think that keeping it pure green makes it more original, for what it is worth. Green/black dredge is dime a dozen.
thanks. :)and thanks for all the helpful ideas. sometimes it helps to bounce things off of someone to help get things moving :)all i have to do now is move some man acceleration in here and I'm golden. I'm thinking maybe the something like dawntreader elk to ramp and put guys in the grave at the same time.
exoskeletal armor! http://www.mtgvault.com/card/exoskeletal-armor/JUD/
I like it. I might check on ditching the wreath for it since it counts all graveyards.
Looking good. How about some sideboard Bonehoard?
Thanks :) and bonehoard is rather nice since it is an equipment that enters acting like. A boneyard wurm.
modified it a bit after playing with some people from my local area. Opinions?
What about some Nemesis of Mortals? They could go really well with this deck.
strangely i had him in originally. Ive found that unfortunately sometimes four mana for a ten ten is actually too slow (it sounds weird but its true in a deck where you have to end things fast and with only a little mana) against the people i find myself fighting off. also he is still just a beater when all is said and done.in all he's a great card in the deck but he got pushed out by guys like satyr way-finder which mills on entrance and does something earlier on in the game. if anything were to be dropped for him it would be a two out two in trade with grave troll since grave troll is useless in early game and has a cost that never reduces. when all is said and done, great cards, he just gets blown out by some of the legacy level cards in here and by the amount of resources i need to make this deck run. thanks for the suggestion though :) i really appreciate it and i will rethink him and maybe putting him back in here.
after a long time of playing this deck it has changed its setup significantly. just updated the deck on here to match it. opinions anyone?
Looks good to me. I like it.
thanks. i know its till too slow but i am looking into ways to speed it up this coming week while i have a few friends to help me test new cards.
Guilds of Ravnica brought the "undergrowth" keyword: Hatchery Spider, Kraul Foragers or Vigorspore Wurm could be of interest here. Spider Spawning could also be worth a look.
the undergrowth cards are all great and powerful but they seem to be way out of range for the mana curve of this deck. hard to compete with a 10/10 for one mana.
