After seeing the numerous builds on Wizards of the Coast website which can be found here:http://www.wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/rc/284I decided to take a crack at contributing to the love they show for the God of the Polis. Gavin Verhey's build seems to be the best suited in my opinion, though I feel he forgets that Ephara's love for the Human race is strong. So let's focus on that aspect as we build an even better deck! Ephara is an amazing Goddess! And this deck hopes to exploit that card draw mechanic that she so graciously grants us. This build gives us the ability to generate tokens at a fast pace. If Ephara isn't present then maybe you will be lucky enough to receive a Spear of Heliod instead. Buffing your tokens and mutavaults is always a plus. One of my favorite cards here is deputy of acquittals. Her utility here is quite nice. Flash her in for protection of your Brimaz, to help select a better target for your Banisher Priest or Lyev Skynight, draw an extra card next turn with Ephara, or simply a good ol' surprise blocker.Azorius Charm is mostly used here for it's bounce ability, but it is nice to have access to additional cards or lifelink. I can't wait to truly try this build out! Good luck with your own new BNG builds! Any advice or feedback is greatly appreciated. Especially with sideboard choices. I need help against control :(

Replace the imposing sovereign with Blind Obedience. its a lot better.
Thanks for the input! You are right. Though I do like the 2/1 body, but it's still a very easy target to hit.
Made a similar deck(http://www.mtgvault.com/yg96/decks/white-devotion-to-the-gods). I prefer using Boros Reckoner over banisher priest for the devotion. But nice deck, might take a few idea's from it :D
I've been debating on whether or not to run Reckoner. I'm really just scared of the 3 white cost. I do like the institution of B.Priest in his place just for the slight edge in control a few of my creatures grant me. Thanks for the input, and I will check out your deck!
This is a great deck. However, you should probably cite Gavin Verhey. http://www.wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/rc/284Not to deny your contributions, as it looks better now than it was before. Although I think not maindecking D-sphere could be a mistake in a Standard with this many gods. But they're in the sideboard.
Thanks for the feedback. The sphere's in the side definitely seems risky, but they definitely go in over priest when the situation arises. As for the Verhey deck, I'm kind of on the fence about. Though the Master of Waves could be another win condition that I feel like I'm lacking. I was thinking about adding 2 of Angel of Thune to hopefully.increase the power in my ranks, but I don't know if that's a wise decision.
yeah i really don't think his focus on blue contributed much to the deck. This is a better deck, imo. That priest is looking sweet. I feel your pain on the win conditions, it feels a little vulnerable, and with not too much late game. But the Brave the Elements helps the vulnerability, and Heliod out of the sideboard might give you a late game. Ajani could be another win con I guess. As if you didn't have enough 3 drops. The only other thing I have to say about the deck off hand is that Lavinia of the Tenth sideboarded would utterly wreck red decks. She *might* even be good enough to maindeck one or two copies. But my main problem is the weakness to cards like drown in sorrow, anger of the gods, gaze of granite, and whelming wave
There is plenty of mass removal that I'm definitely going to have trouble with. That is another problem that i will have to address once i get the build up and running. And thanks for recommending Lavinia!I could see her potentially being a main deck addition.
I dunno what to do about the mass removal. I've actually recently been turning to Swan Song as a 1 cmc counter. It's not ideal, but it could be sideboard I guess.
Yeah, i dont think you sould add mass removal. cards like Lavinia of the Tenth and Banisher Priest disable most problems. also a lot of gods get disabled by Lavinia of the Tenth so i like the idea of putting one or two in your main deck. and by locking down there creatures you can attack with brimaz to get more tokens. WIN-WIN situation. cant do that with mass board whipe.
Actually we were talking about trying to fight against mass removal, but your support for Lavinia of the Tenth is appreciated, and you're right that Lavinia functions 90% of the time to lock down everything for a turn. The only exception might be against R/G Monsters or something.
If you have lavivia red is no problem and almost nobody plays green, only mono blue or mono red or mono black or azurius/boros/esper etc. I have not seen many simic, gruul, golgari or selesnya. (And still nobody plays mono green because of the fact that it is mono green.)
I don't know about that. R/G Monstrous and Selesnya Aggro are both still played decks. And besides which, R/G just got a huge power boost from Xenagos
