The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

Consuming Aberration is currently my favorite card. I love the artwork, plus it can hit realy hard when played at the right moment.

My sideboard is still a work in progress obviously.

EDIT: Here's my update. I've added some counters and a few creature changes. I think this is what I'm going to start with and go from there.

How to Play

I'm basically centering around getting the opposing graveyard built up to lay down a Consuming Aberration that'll hit really hard. Maybe two if my hand is good enough.

The one thing I want to focus on right now is how to stay alive until I get those creatures in my hand.

Deck discussion for Dimir Mill Bomb - Built

This is my first deck that I'm building. Based off of the Dimir deck from Gatecrash with my own tweaks. I'd like to keep it at least legal for Modern with some Standard options for when the need arises.

Any suggestions or advice is welcome.

I have my deck posted somewhere on this site. It's dimir as well. I have used my deck for modern taking out eight of the cards and replacing them with isochon sceptors x 4 and either Mind Rot x 4, Boomerang x4, Cyclonic Rift x 4, Dampen Thought x 4. Basically anything that takes 2 mana to cast.

I don't know how budget your trying to keep this deck, so forgive me ahead of time. You have a lot going on in this deck that doesn't have to do with making an opponent put cards in the graveyard. Like a lot. Especially if Wight and Consuming Abb are your main offense. as for surviving id run some counterspells, and creature return to hand. You need to develop a solid base for the deck to run, which means starting with the right 1st turn drops. Id suggest Hedron Crab for a definite one drop. Id also add Mind Sculpt, Mind Grind, Mind Funeral, Dream Twist, Glimpse the Unthinkable, Memory Sluice, Tome Scour, Thought Scour. Those are all cards that are effective at putting cards into a players graveyard, some are cheap and quick, others more expensive but much more powerful. As for creatures, Hedron Crab, Jace's Phantasm, Consuming Abberation, Lazav Dimir Mastermind and Wight Of the Precinct Six. Then some counterspells and removal for defense. Good luck :p

Those are some really good suggestions. Thanks! Obviously, you can tell I'm pretty new with deck building. I'm used to just using the theme decks but now I'm getting bored with those. The only thing I'm concerned about is wanting to keep a decent deck that is Standard legal with the ability to put the really fun cards in when I'm playing a Modern game.

I would remove 4 Islands, 4 swamps, add 4 Drowned Catacombs and 4 Watery Graves. However, Drowned Catacombs and Watery Graves are rares, and shocklands can be pricey, so those may not be an option for you unless you have something to trade someone for them. That's what I did.

Type your deck name...Yeah, I don't want to get too pricey just yet. But I'll definitely put those down for potentials later on.

I feel ya. I'm not a very devout Magic player yet. I have sunk maybe $30 into Magic while my friends have hundreds upon hundreds of dollars invested. To each his own, but that's not for me. I received a lot of my cards for free from generous donors (really nice friends). All of them were only commons and uncommons, so I had to buy booster packs to get any rares, and I traded those for a few different. Don't feel bad for having a budget; I'm scrounging and trading to get anything good.
