So.....you ever want to give your opponent a card that literally says "you can't win the game," but don't know how? Well I was browsing magic cards and decks and found Harmless Offering with Demonic Pact and thought, "but Abyssal Persecutor works so well with it. Because who plans to have to kill their own creature?" So i did some research on some decks similar and produced this Modern abomination. Enjoy!
Ok, let's not lie, this deck is not fast. Modern is infamous for needing somewhat fast decks. So how in the world are we gonna win with a somewhat slow grixis control-ish deck?THE PLAN:Harmless Offering + Abyssal Persecutor/Demonic Pact (on last option)This is why you paid the price for this deck. It's a silly combo that no one in their right mind expects. "Was I just given a card that makes it so I can't win?" Yes, you were. For Pact, we need to just stall 3 upkeeps then hand it over, a slower win, but a win nonetheless.HOW WE DO IT:We very carefully take our time with the board and control EXACTLY what we need gone. Inquisition early to get rid of stuff like Delver or Snapcasteror a counter that ruins our plan later and save us a headache. Remand and Mana Leak to just buy time. Terminate and Damnation to erase threats off the board. Serum Visions and Sleight of Hand early to dig for pieces. Use Ob to draw cards and divert your opponent's attention off of you. Then it's just a simple matter of 7 mana being tapped for our pieces.SIDEBOARD:This will be something you heavily draw upon after the first time you pull it off. Dispel, Negate, and Thoughtseize are coming in for counters or anything we just don't like. (I'm looking at you storm and path to exile.) Terminate and Fatal Push our the cards of choice for Delve deck (Because Tasigur, Gurmag, and Delver need to die.) Cyclonic Rift simply clears their board. Tron with a Karn? Nope. Ulamog? Nope. An army of tokens? Nope.
