So...me and DedWards were discussing the idea of Evoke and Mimic Vat. We both went two different routes: UW focused on control, and UR focused on elementals. While his deck is probably a bit stronger, I still like the UR variant. The Red allows you to throw in some powerful cards that give you a strong edge, like Flamekin Harbinger tutoring a Mulldrifter to set up a draw engine with the Vat. However, missing out on Path to Exile and Supreme Verdict is harsh. Honestly, in the end, I just love a deck around Evoke and Mimic Vat! Enjoy! When he posts his variant, I'll put the link here:
Get out a Vat, then cast a creature with Evoke. You get to imprint the Evoked creature onto the Vat, and for 3 mana every turn you get to make a token with haste of it! Definitely not a deck you see often, with lots of surprise value in it! If you can't get out the Evoke due to cost (like Nevermaker) You can always throw them out with Soulstoke, then imprint them!SIDEBOARD:With Mana Leak, Counterflux, and a boarded in Negate, you can hit cards like Stony Silence before they happen. Padeem helps with targeted removal for that Vat. Dispel with Negate, Leak, and Flux are your answers to counter magic. Ingot Chewer is great for Vat artifact removal. Spitebellows is your major creature removal board, slowing killing off cards like Angler and Tasigur.
