Do you wanna play Commander without spending hundreds of dollars? Do you like Voltron? Do you like devotion? Do you like crazy control decks? Are you find of quirky lock combos? Do you like Mindlock Orb? Is the ultimate gameplan to control the board as your commander gets massively powerful and sends your opponents one by one to the briney depths? Then let's call Thassa's favorite girl, Callaphe. This woman is a legitimate legend, one that even the gods have been had by once or twice. She outraced Thassa's krakens, stole Purphoros's tears, wrote down Phenax's secrets, was the first persin to understand wind patterns, and when she was happy she set sail into the Nyx. Now, she's back by will of Thassa to slap fools with sea-salt flavored cans of kick ass, and there's plenty of poser legends to get slapped.
The plan is to slap out blue mana symbols so Callaphe can deliver her oceanic volumes of beats. She grows in power the more we have, and even has built in protection. So, we slam down enchantments and creatures to keep her pumped up for her journey into smackdown town. Cards like Arcanis & Gadwick add serious devotion & card advantage, Daring Apprentice & Siren Stormtamer give us much needed counter magic, Auramancer's Guile & One With the Wind pump Callaphe even harder, and Invisible Stalker & Gudul Lurker help whittle down life totals. To further add to our game plan, we bring in a few control auras and lock cards to help keep the waves in check. Mindlock Orb shuts down ramp and tutors, Stormtide Leviathan (combo'd with Archetype of Imagination) & Dissipation Fiend slow down enemy attackers , and cards like Frogify turn scary cards into harmless things. We also bring a few counters and board wipes to help contain issues. Our endgame is pretty much Commander danage, taking down key opponents and then finishing games by cleaning up with Callaphe. As a back, we bring Ominous Seas to create scary fish, Control Magic & Corrupted Conscience to steal big win creatures, and Nadir Kraken to go wide and tall.
