Are you looking at play Commander without spending hundreds? Do you like enchantments? Are you a fan of Theros? Is heroic of of your favorite abilities? Do you like token creatures? Is winning by Commander damage a valid strategy in your eyes? Do you like recursion effects? Then let's get you on a fantastic double date with Akros's power couple. Anax & Cymede are two wonderful people who believe in the gods, slay monsters, and eat grapes. However, they're out of grapes. Now, they need to go grocery shopping, and in Akros, that's harder than it seems. Let's get some Nyx-damned grapes.
AURAS FOR YEARS. Play a heroic creature, your Commander, Champion of the Flame, Valduk, or Wyleth. Enchant them with Auras for various value. Then, ASSAULT THE ENEMY. Your main way of maintaining offense is through aura-buffed creatures and token generators. Akroan Crusader, Vanguard of Brimaz, Ajani's Chosen, Valduk, Archon of Sun's Grace, Goblinslide, and Assemble the Legion are fantastic for this. Once we have a legion, we can cast multiple auras on Anax & Cymede to buff them all multiple times and swing for game. For aura recursion, we bring Tiana, Auramancer, and Ironclad Slayer. We also run a variety of Auras that can bounce back to our hand by an activated cost (or passively in some cases) so we can recast them in the future on our Commander potentially. We also bring a rather large quantity of draw effects based on our Auras to help maintain heroic effects in one strong turn.
