So.....On my quest to make a Gonti deck, I went over some Green and White commanders and found the Cat tribal pre-con deck. I thought, "This thing is ok...but why can't we have gotten a tribe like Humans?" So...I went ahead with the idea and made this. Since Sigarda isn't popular, I figured why not use her and her awesome abilities to give one of my most hated tribes (in my own eyes) a deck that people will be considering a threat just be seeing the commander. Featuring Investigate, Tokens, +1/+1 Counters, Humans, and Angels, here's the tribe that has more power than you ever realized. Enjoy!
So unless you live under a rock or are new to Magic, you probably have seen a Tribal deck. Pick a tribe and spam. Easy, right? Not with Humans. Humans are an oddball tribe with lots of interesting creatures that work well together, but no one card that sells them as a dominant force. Sure, Champion of Lambholt can be somewhat dumb, but humans are mostly small. Cheap bodies are great, but you need many small bodies to kill one Steel Hellkite that could wipe your board if it gets through. So what are we to do?
Well ironically, Innistrad gave Humans a hell of a push with Angels. Cards like Angel of Jubilation buff your humans, and your Commander, the mighty Sigarda, protects them from the wicked ways of your opponents. So, run them with your humans. They look up to the winged wonders anyway, so why not? Plus, you get sweet stuff like Angel of Glory's Rise, which EXILES zombies and resurrects Humans! Take that Scarab God!
But surely, Angels don't carry Humans single-handedly, right? Yes, this is a fact. Humans get some of Magic's most notorious cards. Mother of Runes, Thalia, and Tireless Tracker just to name the big ones in your deck, and a heck of a lot of more unknown heroes. For example, Mirran Crusader denies some decks the ability to even touch it, Heron's Grace Champion can push a huge swing and turn the tables in a single move, and Kytheon turns into a freaking planeswalker! Other than your standard good stuff in Commander, this deck is pretty standard for Tribal decks. Lots of humans, some ways to buff them, and plenty of ramp to get all the fun stuff out. Humans aren't the most powerful tribe, but they join together and win the day in the end.
